Glymed Plus Eyelash Power Treatment
One of the latest eyelash growth products, Glymed Plus Eyelash Power Treatment ($90), got my attention as it is the first time I’ve seen an eyelash growth stimulator use the common hair growth ingredient Minoxidil (which is marketed as Rogaine). The obvious question is why haven’t I seen Minoxidil in an eyelash growth product before.
Personally, I wouldn’t want to put Minoxidil anywhere near my eyes. When I tried Rogaine on my scalp, I got a terrible skin reaction. Furthermore, women are advised against using it at full strength as it can cause the growth of unwanted facial hair. But before we write off Glymed Plus Eyelash Power Treatment, I should point out that it uses a derivative of Minoxidil called diaminopyrimidine 3-oxide.
This little mouthful also goes by the friendlier name of Kopexil. According to the makers, fibrosis is a condition of the hair roots that causes blood vessels to compress and shorten the life span of the hair follicle. Kopexil is supposed to correct this without the side effects of Minoxidil. In 2000, an EU safety committee evaluated it to be safe.
Perhaps the most promising ingredient Glymed Plus Eyelash Power Treatment is biotinoyl tripeptide-1, which shows up in OOKISA’s hair thickening products and in the Lilash, Beauticontrol and Cargo eyelash growth products. It is part of a concoction made by Sederma (the same company makes Matrixyl 3000) for treating alopecia that also includes butylene glycol, PPG-26-buteth-26, PEG-40 hydrogenated castor oil, apigenin, oleanic acid (and) biotinoyl tripeptide-1). According to Sederma, it helps to slow aging effects by lessening the production of dihydrotestosterone (DHT) to improve the irrigation of the hair follicle. Studies (by the company) showed the product to: increase hair growth enhance adhesion molecules stimulate hair strengthening genes increase the proportion of anagen hair.

Have you looked at the new lashatone product? I was reading the ingredients and they seem pretty good. I wonder if it can be used on brows as well?

Hi Sam, Lashatone does look promising. Similar ingredients to Glymed (but without the minoxidil). The tripeptide-1 is part of a formula made for hair growth, so you can definitely try it on eyebrows as well. If you do, let us know how you get on.

Help!! I have been wearing eyelash extensions for a month and as they are dropping out so are my eyelashes which are now exceptionally short to non existent with bald spots which horrifies me - I think the glue must have damaged my natural lashes?! I have purchased Dermalash - both the coloured product and the mascara, but I am not convinced of its efficiency. What do you think of Dermalash? Plus they refused to tell me what the 'eyelash growth stimulator' product in it consisted off which seems a bit dodgy to me. I really need to find a product that contains no glaucoma product nor posglandin as I don't want to use anything at all that may discolour my irises! Please, please help! There are so many eyelash growth products out there; I am looking for the most effective that will make my eyelashes grow back to normal in the shortest amount of time without risking changing my eye colour!! So I tried the lashatone product and it seemed to work pretty well on my brows. I came across a more affordable product with what i think seems to contain better ingredients. The name is too faced long stemmed. Let me know what you think.

I use everlashing and get immediate results. I am bold when it comes to experimenting with products and put it on the bald spots of my eyebrows and sparse "second-half's" where it becomes nothing as it goes towards my temple.
HAPPY to report EVERLASHING mades my brows perfect. All the spots I painted became filled in. Lashes thicker,longer and darker. It is great stuff and works fast.
You have to keep using it for the glamorous look to your lashes, but my eyebrows never thinned again.

I purchased Glymed Plus Eyelash Power I bought it from Skin1 website its like $90 but i got a discount went i bought it. Got it 1wk ago and i can see some changes already on the toplash the bottom havent filled in as i want. but its only been 1 week and a few days. You can use on your top & bottom lashes and also on your eyebrow. Skin1 they give you 45 days to return if not satisfied. So I let you know results in a month it was rated 5 stars
