The PaloVia is an at-home device that uses fractional laser resurfacing technology - narrowly spaced micro-beams of laser energy to prompt new collagen growth. It is FDA approved for use around the eyes to reduce fine lines and wrinkles (although it can be used on other areas of the face as well).

"In the past few years I have reluctantly come to terms with the fact that most creams and serums are never going to produce the results they claim to. I find this to be particularly true when it comes to eye creams.I'm 38 now, and the closest contender I've found thus far is ReLuma ($90 in the TIA shop). I am convinced this product healed a cyst under my left eye. A great product, but not even ReLuma can begin to approach the results that the PaloVia has so far yielded.
Using the PaloVia Skin Renewing Laser is unsettling at first, but well worth it! My eyes are lifted, plumped, and look refreshed. I have also been experimenting with other areas of my face with some success noticed, such as plumping of the nasolabial folds. I don't think there's any reason you couldn't get results like that anywhere on your body! At any rate, I dare say I'm starting to recognize the same face I wore during the noontide of my youth. This groovy little device is awesome!
I know I'm gushing, but there are some things about PaloVia that have given me pause: The reviews on the internet are mixed, it caused some pretty gnarly bruising/red marks when used on the highest setting, and the serum is little more than mineral oil and a paraben. The serum is also costly at $30 for a replacement, and is impossibly difficult to wash off. Not to mention, I read a pretty damning opinion from a board-certified dermatologist that the PaloVia's laser wavelength isn't enough to produce long-term permanent results.
The limited 25 zaps every 8 hours is also kind of a downer, mostly because I want to share it with friends and family. However, I can see why they implemented this rule; it's tempting to go a little crazy with the device once results are noticeable.
While it still may not be the miracle product we've all been searching for, at the moment this is my desert island product. Another unexpected outcome, due to the PaloVia's effectiveness on me up to now, is that I find myself visiting TIA less and less (no offense, TIA team!)."
Each PaloVia box comes with a handheld laser, a one 1 oz. bottle of PaloVia pre-treatment gel, a charger, a storage case, Instruction for Use booklet and warranty information. When applied to clean, dry skin around the eyes, the PaloVia pre-treatment gel ensures proper operation of the Handpiece, proper contact with the Treatment Window and optimal light penetration during treatment. The 1 oz. gel bottle will last for approximately 60 treatment sessions - or about 7 months of Maintenance Phase treatments (twice per week).
Each treatment sessions takes just 3-4 minutes and involves a few simple steps:
1. Cleanse the skin around your eyes and make sure it's completely dry. Apply a thin layer of PaloVia Pre-Treatment Gel around both eyes.
2. Starting with the area beside your eye, treat each wrinkle with a series of three-second "application stamps," with the first at the start of the wrinkle nearest to the eye. Then, lift the hand piece off your skin and move it half an inch along the wrinkle--just enough to avoid overlap. On average, you will use six to eight application stamps around each eye.
3. After treatment, continue to use your normal skin care and cosmetic products. Daily use of a sunscreen is also recommended.
For best wrinkle improvement, follow the recommended treatment plan of one month of daily use followed by ongoing occasional maintenance (twice per week).
60-Day Your Money Back Warranty
A 60-day full satisfaction guarantee. Feel free to return the device to TIA for a full refund for any reason.
One-Year Manufacturer's Warranty
Please register your device on PaloVia website first. If, at any point during the first year since your purchase the device becomes defective, you can simply call PaloVia and you will be sent a replacement unit.

"The high setting has seven zaps, medium has five, and low has three for each time you place the laser on a spot on your line (wrinkle) and press the activation button. Each eye will take six zaps per the directions since you want to laser the entire line. There is a gel that will need to be applied prior to use. The laser has a blue light around the top that will illuminate when you have made correct contact, and laser will only work when it lights up. The first couple of times I used the laser I found this to be frustrating since I was making contact on the line but the light wouldn't stay illuminated after you pressed the activation button and the laser would stop and be considered a misfire - otherwise, a wasted zap! You do get 25 zaps per every eight hours. After a couple of times, placement and getting the light to stay blue wasn't as much of an issue.
The pain was completely tolerable to me and after a couple of nights you just get used to it and know it will be done in a minute or two. The instructions say to use the laser every night for 30 days and then twice a week thereafter. I had to skip a couple of nights because the areas that I was using the laser on were still too red upon waking and I don't own any makeup so didn't have a way to cover up the redness. After about 15 days of using the laser, I was given a sample of a post-procedure calming lotion, which helped quite a bit with the redness and I highly recommend using. I did go off-indication and use on my forehead as I mentioned earlier. Above my right eye I have my deepest expression line, which I want to be rid of without having to get Botox. It is slowly but surely becoming less and less deep.
Bottom line is that I would recommend PaloVia to those wanting to really reduce the lines around their eyes. I don't think the PaloVia will be for everyone due to the zapping feeling but if you can get past that it does provide positive results."

I don't find this at all uncomfortable to use. I've been using it every day, then dropped to 3x a week. The results are amazing. Wrinkles are going, going (nearly) gone

A few weeks into my trial, I started to notice visible changes. My skin was adjusting to the laser treatments and not flaring up as dramatically each time. The fine lines have faded and the corners of my eyes no longer keep company with crow’s feet. Palovia is surprisingly easy to use, once you get the hang of it. Though I would call my experiment with PaloVia a success, I think that the laser is much more effective on newer, shallow wrinkles than cavernous creases.

I also am not faint of heart, and used it every single day, on high, and I did not have much of a problem with the zaps being interrupted. I stupidly kept buying it because I kept reading about some people having good results — I kept hoping it would be a good tool so I wanted to give it a longer time to work. You can’t say I didn’t give it a great shot. I am also very lucky that I only have one little crows foot on each side of each eye and little lines around my eyes only when I smile. I am 50 years old so I believe I was the perfect candidate for the PaloVia. I lived through the red marks, which I could never make go away since I used it daily. Concealer did not totally hide my red marks and the laser really dried out my face, but I didn’t care, I figured if I saw results and then did the maintenance, I wouldn’t have the red marks any longer. That never happened because I used it straight for two months; I did not do the twice a week maintenance the second month, I still used it everyday, so really, I gave it a great shot to work. Sadly, it did not change a thing in six months of using it.

I got mine a little over a year ago and never used it according to the directions – just too much redness. Instead, I used around 3 times a week on medium and got amazing results, around my eyes, naso labials and forehead. Most people think I’m 35; I’m 50. I now use it once or twice a week to maintain. Still get a lot of redness that takes 2 or 3 days to go away, but am not going to stop using it because of that. That’s what concealer is for!
