Broo Citrus Pale Ale Shampoo and Conditioner- reader reviewed and recommended
I haven’t thought about beer shampoo for a few years, so I was excited to test out Citrus Pale Ale Shampoo and Conditioner from Broo ($14.79 each), a line of hair care products that features beer as the main ingredient. In fact, it’s listed as the very first ingredient, pretty cool. I tried the Citrus Pale Ale. Now, I’m not a beer drinker and I’m not really keen on the idea of my hair smelling like a sports bar. But to be honest, it smelled really yummy, more like a creamsicle. The shampoo lathered nicely, and the conditioner had no problem detangling my knotted-up curls. So, I was pleased with the “in-shower” experience. But what’s more important, is how my hair looked after.
I towel dried my hair and it seemed to feel a little drier than normal. But once it fully dried, it felt nice and soft. I didn’t experience any shine/volume/softness miracles, but my hair did look pretty good. You might actually get better beer benefits from a simple homemade beer rinse. Apparently the brand doesn’t matter, and it’s best to use when the beer is flat. But if you don’t wanna bring your leftover brew into the shower with you, Broo is definitely the way to go.
