Make your own oregano hair detangler
Oregano is an antioxidant, although not as powerful as fellow herb, thyme, according to research. It is also a strong antiseptic and is often recommended to treat dandruff or an itchy scalp. Oregano contains thymol and carvacrol, two oils which have remarkable bacteria-fighting power. It is also packed with vitamin K.
Intelligent Nutrients sells a spray-on detangler with oregano and multitude of other botanicals. For a simpler version to make at home: take half a cup of fresh oregano leaves and half a cup of water; simmer in a saucepan for 30 minutes; strain and allow to cool before transferring to a spray bottle. Spray on wet hair after shampooing. Feel free to jazz things up a bit by adding in some cranberry seed and/or grape seed extracts. Mr B uses vanilla essence to perfume his version.

Thank you Fergie. I took a look at the Shielo Antioxidant Leave In Protectant and it looks pretty good. Ordered some and will review it. Unfortunately, I didn't like the look of some of the ingredients in Shielo's shampoo and conditioner. But fingers crossed for the leave in - I'll be back with a review in a few weeks.

I have a lot of long dry fine hair that tangles like crazy. The Shielo Antioxidant Leave In Protectant is the best I've found yet. I find that most detanglers fall into one of two categories: effective but goopy, or ineffective and non-goopy. The Shielo Leave In is unlike these in that it is light, but ACTUALLY detangles. Still, I have to use a lot of it, especially near my scalp when I want to comb my hair in a different direction.
It is scented, but lightly so. Considering how much of the product I use, I am glad the scent isn't too strong.
