Too dull, too dry, too frizzy - a visit to get my hair cut always yields a truthful observation from my hair stylist.  Imagine my surprise when at my most recent visit her first words to me were ‘your hair looks good, what have you been doing different’? Actually, there was a small change. I had started using Shielo Hydrate Shampoo ($22 in the TIA shop) and Hydrate Vibrancy Conditioner ($18 in the TIA shop) three days prior.

With the first use I found that a little goes a long way.  Dispensing an amount only the size of a dime for my short locks (about 2 ½ inches on top), I quickly generated a head full of lather that easily rinsed out. I found the light, somewhat tropical aroma quite pleasant, doesn’t linger and is very gender friendly.

The conditioner has a very light consistency and I didn’t expect it to actually do much, but it performed quite well. I applied it in the shower after shampooing and left it on for the duration of the shower.  It rinsed out very easily and has the same fragrance as the shampoo. I normally use a conditioner every day and I like that although this one is lightweight, it conditions well and doesn’t build up.

After finishing the sample sizes I received, I can say that both products did nice things for my hair. My scalp is normal (neither oily nor dry) and has remained so while using Shielo. The dullness has been replaced with a nice bit of a shine and my hair also doesn’t feel as dry and crunchy as before. Also to like are formulas are concentrated, sulfate free and infused with botanicals, cruelty free and they use post-consumer recycled packaging.
