Tips for speeding up your beauty routine
Tinted moisturizer (plus SPF)
Combine moisturizer and foundation to save time and for a lighter look. All well and good, but the tinted moisturizers are often poor at moisturizing and give next to no coverage and certainly don’t have anything good for your skin in them. Well think again, thanks to Kim we found 100% Pure Tinted Moisturizer SPF20 (we have just started adding 100% Pure to our store and you’ll find this for $32 in the TIA shop). You get a three-in-one moisturizer/foundation/sunscreen combo that does no evil and a whole lot of good – the pigments are made of fruit powders and they have thrown in some antioxidants. It glides on smoothly and gives even coverage. If you don't like wearing makeup and prefer a natural look, this is your new favorite product. Read Kim’s review.
Carmen Rollers were a staple of my teenage years and then heated rollers seemed to go out of vogue. It isn’t a good idea to overdo anything heated related when it comes to hair, but when every minute matters then heated rollers are the ultimate for multi-tasking. Instead of manipulating a hair iron or tongues, you put in your rollers and then Look Ma, No Hands! You simply finish up your makeup, clean your teeth and feed the cats whilst your rollers make sure your coif puts a spring in your step. I like the set by T3 made from tourmaline, the ceramic material that conquers frizz.
Hydrate your foundation
I got this one from Preksha. She adds Your Best Face Hydrate B ($40 in the TIA shop) into her foundation to even out the shade and give her a dewy glow. Plus you are adding hydration and antioxidants to your skin. Here’s her tip: “If I notice my foundation looks a little too caked on, and I don't have time to re-do my face, applying Hydrate B over my foundation has really helped remove the cakey appearance and smooth out my face. Great quick fix if you're running late to work!"
Skin-Lasting spray and go
I have so many good things to say, as do TIA community members, about Skin-Lasting Hydrating Moisturizer ($28 in the TIA shop), but here I will confine myself to saying that its simple formula (with no nasties) is an excellent, time-saving multitasker. Its unusual formula, a liquid spray, makes it super fast to apply and it multitasks as an exfoliant as well as moisturizer and it serves for face, neck, body and hands. If you are travelling, just grab this and an eye cream and you are good to go. There’s a generously sized tester in the current Discover With Marta sample collection.
