The pleasant, grainy texture of the Slough It Off Facial Scrub is provided by the ground seed of ivory palm. The small, dense white nuts of the ivory palm resemble elephant ivory and are used to sustainably carve objects (so as you scrub, you can hope that fewer elephants are being poached for their tusks). Further exfoliation is provided by alpha hydroxy acids from sugar extracts.
The various oils, including olive and babassu, and mango butter ensure that this scrub is also hydrating. In addition to antioxidant acai and wound-healing passion flower, there is guarana. This is a kind of turbo-charged coffee bean that is made into a popular, energy giving drink in Brazil. It is an antioxidant and antibacterial.
An important - and unusual - ingredient that helps achieve cellular repairing is phytic acid. This is the way that plants store phosphorus, a component of DNA. Phytic acid is an antioxidant. Researchers now believe that phytic acid, found in the fiber of legumes and grains, is the major ingredient responsible for preventing colon cancer and other cancers.

Over the weeks, my skin has taken on a new glow, the color is softer, and my face and neck are *so* smooth ... the softness doesn't fade, either. My face feels hydrated all day long ... makeup goes on smoother and seems to last longer, too. I am 62.

The fragrance was very nice. My skin felt very hydrated and so smooth. It was not harsh and my skin did not get as red afterward as I anticipated. I used it every other day and I still have quite a bit left. The oil forms a protective layer on the skin that isn’t greasy or shiny, and it can be used on all skin types. It is also useful for people with eczema and other types of dermatitis because it is gentle and non-comedogenic.” My face looks good, no breakouts and it very hydrated. I do use the Reluma serum and it seems as though I only use half a pump, and it goes a long way. Exfoliation is so important to our skin and our purses. In the long run you will spend less on the more expensive things if you spend a little on the important things. At $42 in the TIA shop it is well worth it.

I have been using SenZen Slough it Off Ultimate Exfoliant 2 times per week for approximately 6 weeks. When I first opened the jar the scent was strong and floral. I was concerned that my sensitive skin would react negatively to the overwhelming scent but so far no issues.
The scrub is a little harsher then the man made beads that come in other scrubs. What I found works best is gentle circular motion for a longer period time vs. firm scrubbing for a shorter period of time. Once rinsed off my skin has a nice balm feel to it. . I’ve noticed in using this scrub that my blackheads have become fewer and my skin glows.
Overall, it seems like a good scrub to add to your routine. At $42 it is a little pricey but not terrible. The jar will last you about 6-8 weeks using it 2 times per week in my estimation.
