TIA Review by Marta:
The warmer weather has me anticipating languid summer days, but also brings less pleasant memories of oily skin that never feels quite clean in the hot and grimy city. Bring on Skinfinite Purify Facial Cleanse. For really clean skin and refined pores, it is hard to beat. It's fruity fragrance is a stimulating start to the day and the combination of exfoliating hydroxy acids and antioxidants with nothing nasty are worth leaving on while you clean your teeth to get some more of their benefits.
Although I am really loving this cleanser, I must admit to finding it a little intimidating at first. The sleek and modern unisex packaging and prominently featured hydroxy acids did not say "gentle" to my sensitive skin. I feared Purify Facial Cleanse would be too harsh for me. Happily, my fears were not confirmed and I can easily use this every other day and when the weather becomes humid, I can see that it will serve me as a daily cleanser.
The hydroxy acids are lactic acid (an alpha hydroxyl acid) and salicylic acid (beta hydroxyl acid). They work in a complimentary fashion: alpha hydroxy acids are water soluble, beta hydroxy acids are lipid (oil) soluble. Alpha hydroxy acids loosen the glue-like substances that hold skin cells together, shedding the top layer of dull, damaged skin. BHAs also penetrate deep through the epidermis to exfoliate the dead skin cells and excess oil built up in the pores.
Also in Purify cleanser is yogurt extract, as well as having a lactic acid component, it is rich in vitamins, calcium and minerals. Amongst the botanicals, there's antioxidant and astringent raspberry. Less convincing is mangosteen, although it does seem to be an anti-inflammatory the supporting evidence for its superfruit status remains scant.
The soapy stuff is a benign coconut derivative, potassium cocoate and yucca root. The saponins in yucca root not only act as a surfactant but also have anti-inflammatory properties.
As well as being refreshing and cleansing, the ingredients make this a good product for breakout control. It would be suitable for any age and skin type, except perhaps very dry skin.
In the interests of full disclosure, I have to admit that Purify has a product twin. The exact same formula is used in a product by Elena Rubin Skincare called Corpus Cleopatra. However, this is positioned as a body wash. As a facial cleanser I feel it is better value and, since I do really like the ingredients, I have (although I don't generally stock white labeled formulas) decided to include Skinfinite Purify Facial cleanser in the TIA shop.

I love Purify! My face started breaking out more than usual and a friend of mine recommended that I try purify, and I am hooked! My face feels so clean and fresh after I use it. And just after using it for a few nights my face cleared up and my breakouts have stopped. I cant wait to try other skinfinite products!
