Ayelet Naturals Good Night Cell Renewing Cream

Size: 1.7 oz (48 ml)

Ayelet Naturals Good Night Cell Renewing Cream is designed to provide the skin with the extra energy it needs to stimulate collagen production, fight free radicals and lock in moisture while you sleep. As skin temperature rises overnight, it causes a significant loss in water. This rich cream uses organic meadowfoam seed oil, along with other essentials like jojoba, rosehip and avocado, to nourish and hydrate the skin. Our tester confirmed that the texture of her skin was smoother, softer, and more refined after use.

The standout active, meadowfoam seed oil, closely mimics the skin’s natural sebum and forms a barrier to lock in moisture and deliver nutrients deep into the epidermis. Plus, it’s loaded with potent antioxidants and phytonutrients that help neutralize free radical damage in order to preserve collagen and elastin. Ayelet Naturals uses certified organic or natural ingredients and is free of harsh chemicals and preservatives. Renew Night Cream is formulated for dry, maturing and damaged skin. Smooth it on before bed to revitalize your complexion come morning.

Tested for over 30 days and reviewed by Julie S:

I’m approaching 60 years old, but have had a lifelong dedication to good skin care and consider myself to have great skin. I have a few forehead wrinkles, eye crinkles and a little drooping at either side of the mouth. I live in Colorado, which is mostly an arid environment and even more so during the winter with the combo of indoor heat and lack of moisture in the air. So I was happy to test the Ayelet Naturals Good Night Cell Renewing Face & Décolletage Cream ($36). My goal in testing this product was to evaluate the efficacy of the ingredients, to see if it lived up to its cell renewing claims and if it could be used as a stand-alone night cream by providing enough hydration.

The product comes nicely packaged. The box has the ingredient label printed clearly and the product itself is in a sturdy glass jar. Both appearance and texture matter to me, and this hit my pleasure button right away with its look, feel and scent. It’s a pale-yellow cream with a silky texture and is very lightly scented with lavender and chamomile essential oils. The fragrance, which is natural, dissipates quickly.

The jar holds a decent amount of product, so I felt comfortable using a generous amount — about a lima-bean-sized dab — of the cream on my face and décolletage every night. The cream is not thick, but somewhat of a medium density that was easily absorbed by my skin and played nicely with the other product I used. I applied only this cream the first week, but then I had to add back in my regular nighttime oil-serum, as this cream was not enough moisture for my skin during the winter.

I run a humidifier in the house, because of the lack of moisture in the air, which brings me to a comment about one of the ingredients in this product: hyaluronic acid. It is a powerful humectant (aka moisture-binding ingredient) that keeps skin plump and hydrated. Applied topically, hyaluronic acid is said to boost hydration and improve elasticity. However, I’ve observed that it doesn’t work well for my dry skin if there is not a lot of moisture in the air to pull from.

Good Night Cell Renewing Cream also has a nice deck of stable, nourishing carrier oils, including olive, jojoba and meadowfoam seed oil, as well as some very effective antioxidants (green tea leaf extract, rosehip and vitamin E) and essential fatty acids. Shea butter gives it its decadent feel while the addition of glyceryl stearate probably helps slow the loss of water from the skin by forming a barrier on the surface.

I am a big fan of natural skin care. We live in a mostly toxic environment, and our skin is our first line of defense. I don’t want to challenge my body further with substances that could bring in challenges through my skin. Ayelet carries no nasty ingredients or preservatives and instead uses radish root ferment filtrate to preserve the product.

I wasn’t amazed with any difference in my skin for the first three weeks of use, and then I came to the end of the fourth week. At this point, my skin felt soft and appeared smooth. The texture was a bit more refined and the overall integrity of my face, neck, and décolletage seemed to display a bit more density and ‘bounce back.’

Will I purchase this product in the future? It’s certainly on my list. However, now that I’m done with the trial period, I will probably sandwich it in between my vitamin C face oil and a richer night balm, just to get the moisture my skin needs overnight. Also, there is nothing in it that would preclude me from trying this as a daytime moisturizer.

The opening quote from Ayelet Naturals website says, “Natural products from earth beauty.” Yay for simple, effective, non-toxic skin care!
