I have recently tried Dr Dennis Gross Ferulic & Retinol Moisturizer. I am in my 30s and have combination skin. I was expecting this product to improve the appearance of tiny wrinkles and even out my skin tone. I was using the product two times a day: in the morning and afternoon. It did make my skin softer and improved its moisture without being too greasy. Another good thing about this cream is that it contains retinol which is good for my skin. The smell of the cream is also nice and not too strong. However, it did not make a significant change in the appearance of lines and wrinkles. It also did not improve the tone of my skin as I was hoping it would. But overall it is a decent product and I would recommend it to my friends.

Like the previous reviewer, I received a very generous sample of Dr. Dennis Gross Ferulic and Retinol Moisturizer about three weeks ago. I do not generally have overall issues with keeping my ALMOST 59-year old (this week!) face/neck moisturized. But, due to an unfortunate oral surgery disaster, the left lower side of my mouth is extremely painful to move; I've developed unexpected deep grooves and wrinkles in this area which until now, have not responded to any other products or fantastic tools (i.e. Truth Vitality Lux Renew/Trophy Skin Microderm MD). Out of desperation and for lack of any other way to lessen these growing, unsightly, and unilateral grooves, I started generous use of this product at night, just around my lips, particularly in the affected area--just below my bottom left lip from the middle of my lip all of the way to about an inch to the left of my bottom lip. I cannot report that these DEEP grooves (mostly because I cannot move that part of my lip secondary to pain--NOT paralysis) have gone away, but in the short time I've upped my usage to both a.m. and p.m. application JUST to this area, I've noticed that the lines have NOT increased/gotten any worse and may have improved a bit. Fortunately, because of the many fantastic products I've put together from TIA, my skin and neck feel very soft. But, the area I've added this product is plumper and even softer than other areas of my face. My lips (along with YBF's Define) feel amazingly soft (even though I do not apply this product DIRECTLY to my lips) and also a bit plumper from both the Define AND this moisturizer. I am hopeful that I've at least prevented this permanent problem that hurts like crazy, from at least not LOOKING as bad as it feels!! Again, I use it all the way around my lips, concentrating on the worst area.

The product itself has little to no scent, comes in a user-friendly pot (the sample)--rather like the old Nars pots of lip gloss which unfortunately are no longer available. The 'spreadability' of the moisturizer feels like silk being applied to my face. Although retinol is one of it's products, I've not noticed any appreciable dead skin when cleansing and toning. However, I assiduously use not only the Lux Renew at least in the a.m. for 15 min (red LED with Marta's signature gel), but I also use YBF's Prep and Trophy Skin's Microderm MD each approximately 2 times per week, interspersed with evening Lux Renew use, so I am probably not giving this product much of a chance to leave many dead skin cells. I also cleanse with a Clarisonic Aria (large handle--three speeds) cleansing with a light gel with glycolic acid mixed with other 'goodies'--a product I've used for 29 years.

I cannot definitely state that the PMMA [Poly(methyl methacrylate)] in this product is the 'magic' ingredient that has helped fill in some of my deep lower lip area lines, but I suspect that this amazing ingredient has played some role in the rapid cessation of any worsening of the grooves on this area on my face and probably some improvement in the deeper areas. See the TIA website for more details on this ingredient. It's cousin, methyl methacrylate, with which I've had a great deal of experience in the operating room during total knee replacements and total hip replacements is known to have carcinogenic properties. However, there is little science to support any of the same for this SIMILAR skin care ingredient.

For the purist, Dr. Dennis Gross Ferulic and Retinol Moisturizer does contain phenoxyethanol which is not considered to be a 'natural' preservative and has evoked some controversy amongst those who want nothing but 'organic' ingredients as preserving agents.

Bottom line: I am keeping this around permanently as I do not wish to have fillers injected by professional dermatologists/plastic surgeons. I would prefer to use topical agents. Great product!!

I was sent a sample of this product by Truth in Aging and it was a very generous sample size. I've been using it for over 3 weeks and I've never had such immediate, amazing results before. I am in my 50's and am from the generation who laid out in the sun with baby oil on my skin. Within a week of using this product my skin was softer, more even toned, with minimized wrinkles. The results keep getting more profound as more time goes by. My daughter and my mother have both made comments about how great my skin looks. AND no breakouts in my T zone!! Yes, I was still having breakouts at my age. Best of all, I haven't worn foundation for the last week and haven't missed it. I have ordered more of this product and don't plan to be without it any time soon.
