Elizabeth Dehn for One Love Organics Active Moisture Vitamin E Eye Balm is an intensively hydrating, waterless eye balm that restores radiance to the delicate eye area with a blend of vitamins and active antioxidants. This eye treatment contains organic fennel to reduce puffiness, as well as pomegranate, eyebright and ginseng to lift and plump the skin while providing continuous moisture throughout the day.

TIA Review by Michele:
I'm almost 33 and have darkish circles and a few small eye creases. My eyes also tend to be puffy in the mornings. I spent a month using Elizabeth Dehn for One Love Organics Vitamin E Eye Balm, a product that advertises vitamin E and pomegranate oils among other organic oils and herbal ingredients to hydrate, lift, and plump.

The directions state to use one's ring finger to gently press the product around the eye area. It should be applied sparingly in the morning to brighten and depuff, and liberally in the evening as a restorative treatment.

The Vitamin E Eye Balm comes in a small dark brown bottle with a simple white lid and label. It looks rather 'medicinal' and simple, but I love it. I would love to display such jars on my bathroom cabinet. Inside is a yellowish colored balm. It smells "herb-y" which isn't bad — I'm guessing it's the fennel. I have not seen an eye product like this; it looks more like a standard lip balm. Because the product's texture is so thick and hard, it really needs to be warmed before dabbing it onto the eye area so the skin isn't pulled as it's applied.

There is no water in this eye balm, but rather lots of active herbs and oils to heal, depuff, and nourish. The first ingredient is shea butter, a familiar moisturizing ingredient. Next is sunflower seed oil which, according to some natural beauty websites and anecdotal evidence, lightens dark circles. Pomegranate sterols, vitamin E, and raspberry seed oil follow. Oils are full of antioxidants and minerals to nourish and moisturize. Eyebright, an herb used in alternative medicine as a compress for conjunctivitis and other eye irritations and as a topical treatment for puffy eyes and dark circles, is next. Some websites say that eyebright has no known side effects, yet other say that it can cause headaches and eye irritation, though this may be when it's used orally or as eyedrops (which should be supervised by a physician or herbalist). This balm also contains American ginseng which herbalists use to help with eye infections and topically for its anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties. Licorice root is beneficial to psoriasis and eczema and, when applied topically, can relieve itching, redness, and swelling. The last two ingredients are lavender and fennel oils. Fennel was used by herbalists as an eye wash for inflammation and irritation.

I applied Elizabeth Dehn for One Love Organics Vitamin E Eye Balm somewhat sparingly in the morning on the upper and lower lids up to the brown bone. I was somewhat worried about this being too moisturizing as a very moisturizing eye cream can cause those small white bumps under the eyes. However, this didn't happen in my case, though it is very moisturizing. Hours after I put it on I still felt it on my eyes with my fingers (especially if I put too much on in the mornings). However, it didn't feel heavy or like it was just sitting on top my eyelids. My liquid concealer and pencil eyeliner went on wonderfully smooth over this. It was amazing. In the evenings I put this on liberally.

I didn't notice too much difference with my eye creases, but I don't have a lot or very deep ones. Over time I did notice that I look less tired in the morning. My under-eye circles are a little less dark and I definitely notice that my eyes are less puffy.

This eye balm is really nice to use in the cold Canadian winter, but I'm thinking it might be too moisturizing in a hot summer.

The price is good especially as this lasts a long time because it's so heavy and thick and a little goes a long way.

In conclusion, I found my new eye cream. It's organic, which I like, seems to work as it is supposed to, and it's not expensive. I love it!

It's a butter, so when you apply it, it melts and turns into oil.
I like the fact that is made with all natural products.
I think is good to use in winter, or as a eye night cream. But I wouldn't use it during the day, because it leaves the eye area too shinny and oily.
