I Pekar Hungarian Thermal Water Tonik

by I Pekar

Size: 3.4 oz (100 ml)

I Pekar Hungarian Thermal Water Tonik is a skin-balancing blend created with activated Hungarian Thermal Water, commonly referred to as “miracle water” for its medicinal and healing components. The all-natural elixir removes impurities, clarifies the complexion and balances the skin’s pH level for a fresher, more alkaline surface. After testing this toner for 30 days, our reviewer reported clearer and brighter skin with use.

Hungarian thermal Water helps control problematic skin while hydrating. Organic white willow bark and citrus peels provide gentle exfoliation while colloidal silver stimulates healing. Bilberry fruit is included for its excellent antioxidant properties that protect against premature aging. Bring yourself to an uplifting experience amplified with clear crystal quartz. The weightless mist absorbs quickly, and the light-reflective finish adds subtle radiance.

Review by Candace:

I’m in my 60s with normal skin that is somewhat lined and wrinkled. I’m no newbie to toners, as I’ve used those from RL Linden, May Lindstrom, In Fiore and Mun. So, I was eager to the I Pekar Hungarian Thermal Water Tonik ($88). I currently use I Pekar’s cleanser, eye cream and thermal mud mask, and like the other products in this line, I felt the toner would be a good addition to my regimen.

The first thing I noticed about this toner was, to me, the pronounced scent of peppermint. The third ingredient listed is organic peppermint leaf, and although I’m not a fan of peppermint, it has a fresh, just-picked scent. My skin is somewhat reactive, but I had no problem with this at all. It was actually quite refreshing. The product itself is weightless, easily absorbed and, according to the company, pH balanced, making it ideal for all skin types.

The ingredient list is quite simple with mostly organic plant and fruit extracts. The base of the elixir is organic aloe, followed by Hungarian thermal water, which is praised as a “miracle water” for its healing components. Next up is white willow bark extract, a natural source of salicylic acid. Studies have shown it sops up excess oil, reduces the appearance of large pores and adds radiance. Other notable ingredients include antioxidant-rich bilberry fruit, damage-reversing rosemary and healing silver colloid. Finally, it is infused with clear crystal quartz, which supposedly boosts skin’s energy and radiance (though there isn’t much supporting science).

I found that this toner prepared my skin for the other products I used, making them more effective. The enhancement was visible — clearer and brighter skin. At first glance, the product seems to be on the pricey side, but I will definitely repurchase. I have used it twice a day for almost a month (without skimping!), and I feel that there is enough product left for at least two or more months of use. I recommend you try it, especially if you are already a fan of toners like me.

Hi Jane, I really don't know how much thermal water there is, but I was a witness to the development of this product. The early versions were not very pleasant smelling and it took a few goes to get the scent right.

Well, having to be born and grown up in Hungary, we went to a lot of thermal baths with my family. It truly is part of the Hungarian culture and the locals visit these baths summer and winter. If anyone has visited these, the person knows the strong smell of the minerals. We heated out house with thermal water because it was such high temperature. We used this water in our bathroom also. Yes, it has a color and a smell. So for this product to have a "fresh scent" makes me truly wonder how much thermal water that is in this. Those minerals naturally smell so for this product not to smell, I wonder if this is just a marketing gimmick.
