Safety Measures/Side Effects:

According to The International Federation of Aromatherapists and the medical journal Contact Dermatitis, Eugenia Caryophyllus should be used with extreme caution. Clove oil contains 73% eugenol, a volatile substance that research has shown causes skin-cell death and it can be a potent skin irritant when used repeatedly. It should not be used by pregnant women and its use should be monitored carefully because of its volatile properties.
