MitoQ Eye Renew is heavy hitting eye cream with actives to lift sagging lids, firm the under eye area and diminish dark circles and puffiness. MitoQ's proprietary antioxidant targets the mitochondria to re-energize our cells. This powerful eye cream has Beautifeye for firming, collagen-boosting phytosterols and vitamins. MitoQ Eye Renew has been tested by the Truth In Aging community so you can trust that it works.

Tested for 30 days and reviewed by Marta

At the US press launch for MitoQ’s new line at a swanky New York restaurant and with a super model in attendance, I was asked to give a little speech to the press explaining how the Truth In Aging community had first discovered MitoQ back in 2014 and its unique approach to anti-aging. Like the other attendees, I was given a tube of the new MitoQ Eye Renew ($135 in the shop), the brand’s very first eye serum. I immediately started testing it and can say has it ever been worth the wait. This is a serious eye cream.

The most notable result is firmness. My under eye area responds to the tap test with a taut springiness. It is so impressive that I am wont to gently poke and prod around my eyes, enjoying the feeling of dense skin. My lids are also lifted. Although not especially prone to dark under eye circles, I also notice that the whole area is clearer and brighter. MitoQ has created a winner that is worthy of its original Moisturizing Cellular Energizing Serum ($199 in the shop).

One of the most notable ingredients is marketed as Beautifeye and is still a somewhat rare find. It is the combination of Darutoside and an extract from the “tree of happiness”. Darutoside is a combo of two botanical extracts, siegesbeckia orientalis and centella asiatica. It is supposed to be highly emollient and stimulate tissue regeneration via the collagen fibers. The happiness tree is more properly known as abizia, an antioxidant.

Sederma, who makes Beautifeye, claims that it is the “first active ingredient of its kind demonstrated to have a lifting action on the sagging upper eyelid” as well as diminishing puffiness and dark circles. Well, it certainly has for me.

While Beautieye may still be making its way into eye cream formualtions, Eye Renew will always be the only eye serum with the proprietary MitoQ. This is an antioxidant molecule that targets mitochondria, the source of energy in our cells. Science is still making discoveries about the importance of mitochondria and only last year researchers at a university in the UK found a link between declining mitochondria and aging skin.

Also worth a call out are phytosterols. These are plant-derived and are molecules associated with cholesterol. It seems that they can actively replenish collagen and much more. In fact, my initial research suggests they are worthy of a deeper dive and I’ll come back to them in an Ingredient Spotlight.

A couple of quibbles. I don’t love the applicator, a tube topped with a flat, circular metal and plastic tip. I don’t find that it helps apply the cream to the eye area and I simply wipe the product off onto my ring finger and then rub it gently in. The only ingredient not to like is the preservative sodium hydroxide. But these are easily shrugged off when it comes to assessing what is an excellent eye cream.

I have been using your very pricey MitoQ Eye Renew, morning and night, for 3 weeks. There is no difference of any kind. I think you only print positive comments, so I don't expect to see my comment.

I was lucky enough to receive a full size MitoQ Eye Renew, which I used for several weeks. Week after week I expected to see something.... any imorovement. Unfortunately, I have to be honest I didn't see or feel anything at all. I am a 53 year old woman who easily looks 10 years younger and my main concern is the puffyness of my under-eye area which I was hoping this cream would diminish - sadly it didn't happen. I really like that the company is cruetly-free, paraben-free, no synthetic fragrances or phthalates. These are real positives for me. The cream is very light, fragrance free and it absorbs almost immediately. A little can go a long way and this tube will last for 6 months. But at least for me it didn't correct my problem.

The cream goes on smoothly and feels nicely, but not overly, emollient. I did not notice any particular improvement with regular use. It was worth a try, but too expensive to continue to use as a simple moisturizer.

I had no sensitivity, and I’ve used other products that have resulted in eyes swollen shut. There is no fragrance. It absorbed very well. I had no adverse reactions during the 30-day test period.

What I noticed most was the tiniest of lids beginning to appear instead of a fat blob of skin covering my eyes. As the time approached for me to write this, my very first review, I was disappointed I hadn’t seen more change in my lids. What I do notice is a firmness and brightness to the skin under my eyes that I can see and feel.

Hi Tammi, what is going on is that you tried a new product for the eyes for the first time over another eye serum. This is mot definitely not recommended. A new product should be tried out on its own as interactions between ingredients are not uncommon. Try MitoQ as a patch test and then on its own .

Not sure what is going on but the first application was at night - over Dr Gross's Ferulic + Retinol triple correction eye serum (which is very drying to my under area) - and I woke up in the morning with bags!!! It have dark circles but never in my life have had puffy, bags under my eyes like pockets up fluid under the skin. I was hoping this would moisturize and reverse the dryness of eye serums and used it morning and night for two more days. I'm still waking up with bags and puffiness. I will stop for a couple of days and see if my under eyes go back to normal and give another update.

The area below my eyes and out to the temples started looking more resilient within the first week and my upper lids a couple weeks after. Like Marta, I find myself doing a gentle tap test. The skin not only feels thicker, it reflects light differently. It has a glow only found in firm skin. Also, under eye puffiness is gone. The crow’s feet appear the same. Even using a generous amount twice daily I have half the tube left. This tube could easily last 6 months if only used around the eyes. It layered perfectly with no “pilling” under sunscreen or makeup.

I am so happy to have discovered MitoQ Eye Renew and recommend it completely.

Hi Marta! Here is my review of this amazing product! Feel free to edit. I did not name the eye cream that I had been using, it is Esee if you want to add that in.

I am 64 years old, (almost 65 -- I just got my medicare card!) and frankly, in the past, an eye cream junky. I have good skin – strong, healthy and non-reactive except for fragrances. They invariably make my eyes sting and eyes and nose run. Ick. On Marta’s recommendation I was able to find a lovely eye cream a couple years ago that felt deeply moisturizing, did not offend my eyes or nose, and had sound science behind the ingredients. I do feel that it has slowed down the aging process around my eyes and I had no interest in trying anything different unless it was really special.

Then along came MitoQ Eye Renew. I had been reading about an exciting ingredient in it called BEAUTIFEYE made by Sederma. Sederma’s website contains all of the data that Marta shares in her review about a clinical study and closes with “…Beautifeye, in only 7 days, was able to positively influence the way volunteers [in the study] perceive the features of their face. In the blink of an eye, Beautifeye rejuvenates the eyes.” Only 7 days! I was hooked. When the offer came to try MitoQ Eye Renew I jumped at it – not only would it have the above mentioned Beautifeye, it had all of the powerful properties of MitoQ serums that target and strengthen the mitochondria.

It is a lightweight serum that spreads easily and is absorbed rapidly. No fragrance and no irritation to my eyes. There is a plunger that you depress so that it comes out onto a flat disk that is supposed to make it easier to apply – not for me! Love the plunger, it is very easy to control if you want to use less of the product, but found the disk to be awkward. I would rather use my ring fingers to apply the serum. A single press on the plunger dispenses a very generous amount, enough for both eyes and around your lips if you like. I have always applied my eye creams around my lips and am happy to report that it didn’t cause any irritation there either.

I didn’t honestly expect to see a difference in 7 days but did hope to see “something” in a month. WELL, by day 7 I had gone further off label and started patting some on my “dimples” (I use quotes because I think that they aren’t really dimples if they show up post menopause…) and since day 14 I have been quickly smoothing any excess on my throat! For the past decade I have been experiencing all the usual suspects around my eyes – laxity of skin found in droopy upper eyes, crow’s feet, crinkles and puffiness below.
