MitoQ Skin Boosting Active Night Cream - PM

Size: 1.7 oz (50 ml)

MitoQ Skin Boosting Active Night Cream revitalizes, brightens and restores your skin while you sleep. The mid-weight night cream re-energizes the cell’s natural energy-producing mitochondria with the brand’s proprietary antioxidant complex while anti-aging actives help stimulate the rebuilding of collagen and elastin in the skin. The result is decreased levels of oxidative stress and skin that is visibly smoother and brighter with a more even tone. Our reviewers report improved elasticity, as well as softer skin and radiance.

MitoQ is an exciting advance in antioxidant technology — CoQ with a positive charge —that supports your mitochondria, or cellular batteries. It protects the mitochondria from damage caused by free radicals, allowing them to better function. The peptide Matrixyl® synthe’6® relaxes wrinkles and plumps the skin. These powerful ingredients are blended with hyaluronic acid, which hydrates and plumps the skin, and vitamins A, C and E sourced from rosehip, macadamia and pomegranate.

Paraben Free, Vegan, no synthetic colours, no synthetic fragrances, no DEA, TEA, no phthalates, anti-pollution actives.

TIA Review by Marta:

I must admit that I went into my trial of MitoQ Skin Boosting Active Night Cream ($145) with very mixed feelings. The original MitoQ is such a fantastically effective product with essentially one key ingredient, and I feared that complicating things would not be an improvement. But I was wrong. I love this night cream, and it is very complimentary with the original MitoQ serum, which I have been using in the mornings.

After a month long MitoQ fix, my skin is very happy. I am particularly impressed by a feeling of improved elasticity, as well as softer skin and an all round healthy glow. As noted by Jennifer B in her recent review, MitoQ Skin Boosting Active Night Cream is a really pleasant cream to use. It is moisturizing without being overly unctuous (as can be the case with some night creams, at least for my slightly slick skin) and hasn’t much of a discernible scent.

The star of the ingredients line up is, of course mitoquinol mesylate, or MitoQ, a turbo charged form of the antioxidant ubquinone that has been honed to target straight at the heart of the mitochondria. This is energy powerhouse of our cells and without mitochondria we wouldn’t be alive and, as you might guess, its activity slows down as we age.

A very good companion for MitoQ and its cell energy boosting is the peptide palmitoyl tripeptide-38 that goes by the name of Matrixyl Synthe’6. It regulates cell activity, wound repair and collagen tissue remodeling. Specifically, as the name suggests it stimulates six major constituents of the skin matrix and the dermal-epidermal junction.

The third key active is the anti-aging workhorse niancinamide. It is a derivative of vitamin B3 that suppresses melanin from reaching the surface of the skin and protects the skin from further UV damage. Hence it can prevent the deepening of existing areas of hyperpigmentation and help stop new ones from forming.

With natural emollients such as avocado oil and not much to dislike, apart from sodium hydroxide, this cream is recommended for anyone looking for a highly effective anti-aging night cream that relies on cell regeneration rather than exfoliation to do its job. And, of course, it is a must for anyone who is a MitoQ fan and wants another product to up their dose of this very potent antioxidant.

Our Take

By Jennifer B Being a fan of the original MitoQ serum and capsules already, I was eager to jump at the chance to review MitoQ’s expanded new skin care line. The collection includes a day serum, day cream, night serum and night cream. The product I tested is the MitoQ Skin Boosting Active Night... read more

I wanted to give you my impressions of using MitoQ Skin Boosting Active Night Cream. I have sensitive/dry skin that has had issues with sun exposure in the past. I walk daily and use a 50SPF Baby sunscreen lotion and 30SPF mineral brush-on powder several times a day. I did not have any reactions to the product and in fact was wondering if it was working at all. The cost of the cream made me think there would be dramatic results and I did not really notice anything different to my skin. I kept up with the product nightly over two months and continued to use my same anti-aging potions so the results would not be varied by them as instructed. I am always looking for the newest economical wonder product to keep my 57 year young skin in the best shape possible and was eager to try this complimentary cream for my review. After adding the cream to my regime, I must say my skin was glowing. I received an aqua facial as a gift and the medical aesthetician nurse exclaimed what wonderful condition my complexion was in and at the most would have guessed me as being 42. I would say that the MitoQ Skin Boosting Active Night Cream really must have aided my skin and it took an expert to identify its impact.

During the first week of use I noticed very little change in my skin. But during the second week I began to see some subtle changes. My skin appeared to be a bit more plump and brighter and my pores appeared to have diminished a bit and those improvements continued and now I can definitely see the improvements and they no longer just “appear to have” they actually have improved. I did see some very subtle improvements in wrinkle reduction but nothing major and no improvement around the stubborn lip area and in reducing dark/sun spots.

Overall, I grew to really like this product especially during the fall/winter season when my skin is drier. This is a good solid product and I will continue to use it but now that the testing period is over I will be adding the MitoQ serum which I think will give it an added boost.

After 30 days, I can confidently say that this product has been wonderful for my skin. It’s clear and bright and feels almost as if it’s thicker and stronger. The results are definitely noticeable. I am starting to feel like I can’t be without this powerful product in my arsenal. And while it’s certainly a splurge, it seems to last awhile. After 30 days, I still have a lot left. One pump is enough to cover my whole face and neck. Looks like MitoQ has done it again!

PamiK thank goodness for your gimlet eye! We were emailed the wrong ingredients list by MitoQ (I think an early version). I have replaced it with the correct one.

I'm curious to know if some of the ingredients mentioned by the reviewer are in secret code under the Ingredients List?
I didn't see Matrixyl Synthe'6, chamomile CO2, Prodizia or Vitamin A. Under the official list of ingredients I did, however, see
    niacinamide, a worthy mention.
