100% Pure Fruit Pigmented Lip and Cheek Tint

May 30, 2008 Reviewed by Marta 1 Comment

The other day I looked into FD&C dyes and found that they are probably best avoided. Since they are in most things, life in a convent or the Yemen is probably the only way of achieving that. Consequently, I was relieved to come across a brand called 100% Pure which has a new line of lip glosses and blush that avoid FD&C dyes altogether and use fruit pigments instead.

This Fruit Pigmented Lip and Cheek Tint has base of shea and cocoa butters. Not only does the fruit and veg impart color, but also anti-oxidants. 100% Pure also has no phthalates, propylene glycol (although I am not convinced that this is too nasty), sulfates or petrochemicals. I have a lip and cheek tint on order and I'll let you know how I get on with it.

Yes! There are very few companies which are actually telling the truth when they say "Natural" and many do use FD&C colors for makeup...
