I have faithfully used Amala Rejuvenating Cream for about six weeks now. Most of the time I’ve used it every morning and night with a few nights missed. It was Amala’s initiatives to provide potent, natural, sustainable products while remaining socially and environmentally responsible are what attracted me to trying this product (thanks, Marta!). According to Amala, their skincare treatments are plant-based formulas of 100% natural origin.
Starting with the packaging, the cream arrived in a thick recycled paper tube with a cork top. The cream’s dispenser is functional and hygienic and the “look/vibe” of the product is clean and serene. As for the consistency of the cream and its ingredients, there is nothing not to like. It boasts the main ingredients of Acai (claims that it rejuvenates and helps repair damage and protect skin from harmful free radicals), Cupuacu Butter (claims that it prevents moisture loss for superior softness and time released hydration) and Green Algae (claims that it helps firm skin while smoothing fine lines and wrinkles). The complete list of ingredients can be found below. The product is not greasy, practically fragrance free and sinks into the skin rather quickly. My “late-30’s something” face feels well hydrated after application (and all day long) and even seems to glow a bit. We recently traveled from the chilly Maryland to sunny, humid Florida and Amala’s Rejuvenating Cream held up in that climate as well. I even think that the Cacao (one of the Five Best Botanical Ingredients to Help Get Younger Skin
by Marta) helped protect my very fair skin from the UV rays along with my Jane Iredale PurePressed® Base Mineral Foundation.
Amala provides clinical test results on their website for their products.Testing is provided by a third party laboratory in Germany, which specializes in skincare and is head by dermatologists (who are undoubtedly on the Amala payroll nonetheless). Per their results, 100% of testers experienced improved skin hydration and firmness with this product. 90% of women saw an improvement in line depth and wrinkles and 85% of women enjoyed accelerated cell renewal. Personally, my skin feels very hydrated and has a healthy glow. There seems to be some slight improvements with some fine lines as well as some large pores around my nose area which seem to have been reduced slightly.
Amala’s Rejuvenating Cream is a pleasant, quality product whose origins stem from social consciousness and responsibility. Unfortunately, although it is a product with quality ingredients and greater potential for more significant results after long-term use, at $116.00 per bottle, it may be a little too expensive to keep in the regimen. However, I plan to keep Amala on my radar as I hope to get a chance to try to Rejuvenating Serum or other products in the future.
