I tested the Amarte Aqua Veil Hydrator ($65), and what a lovely product this is! The packaging is beautiful, feminine and modern, the scent is fresh and clean and the moisturizer is lightweight and effective. I even love the name: Aqua Veil, a veil of water. Amarte Aqua Veil Hydrator’s got it all!
From my initial application until today, this product makes me feel awake and in a good mood. It must have something to do with the delicious scent of cucumbers! Each pump provides a generous amount, and it never gets clogged. As a woman in my late 40s with sensitive/normal to dry skin, I found that when I applied the product to my face, neck and décolleté, my skin absorbed it quickly, looking plump and healthy. I used the product twice a day for one month.
The Amarte website states this product is good for all skin types, and I agree, to a point. Since my skin tends to be dry in the winter and spring, I am not sure how a very dry-skinned person would react to this moisturizer. I would be interested in trying the Amarte Cream so I could compare the different formulations.
Aqua Veil Hydrator contains cyclomethicone, a clear, odorless silicone that leaves skin silky smooth and evaporates quickly after helping carry moisture to the epidermis. Dimethicone copolyol helps soften skin and allows moisturizers to spread evenly and smoothly. Glycerin, a humectant, draws water into the outer layer of the skin. Sodium hyaluronate penetrates the skin and can hold up to 1000 times its weight in water! It also helps with microcirculation and nutrient absorption. This results in smoother, softer skin and a hydrated appearance.
While I really enjoyed this product, I wish it included an SPF. If it was a product specifically formulated for nighttime use, that wouldn’t be a problem. Since I am such an advocate for sun protection (and my dark spots tell the story for me), I feel this is a big miss. I also think this product would not satisfy my skin care needs in the winter; I would definitely need a richer, denser cream.
