I tried out the Amartè BB Cream ($57 in the shop) in light for about four weeks. I love a good BB cream! As long as it is a good product with high quality ingredients, covers well, matches or flatters and evens my skin tone, is a good balanced moisturizer, not too light or heavy, and has an overall good natural look.
There's nothing like skipping so many steps to your morning regime. Serum, antioxidants, moisturizer, SPF, primer, and foundation. All in one! Fabulous concept.
Initially I checked out the Amarte BB Cream online to make sure the "light" shade wasn't too light for me. I'm fair skinned but not too light and I find that a lot of "light" foundations are too light and make me look Casper faced. I saw that Amartè was a product from Korea and when I checked out the shade on their website, it looked quite warm/golden toned and what I would consider a perfect shade for myself. I was super excited to try it out.
The ingredients in Amartè BB Cream were high quality and from what I read, seemed like an excellent product. When I received the BB cream, I opened it to check out the shade, tone, and consistency. I pumped some out on the inside of my wrist and was immediately disappointed - it was too light! Also the tone wasn't the warm tone the website showed. It wasn't even neutral. It had a cool pink undertone. The very tone of foundation I avoid, as I have pinkness to my face that I neutralize by choosing warm tones.
I washed my face next, to give it a proper test drive. It was a nice balanced moisturizer/hydrator. Didn't seem too heavy or light. My skin is quite oily and it was perfect for my skin in this regard. Also I didn't have an oily shiny face later through the day, which was nice. It also had quite a pleasant and subtle fragrance.
The coverage was perfect as well, not too light like a lot of BB creams and blended very well over my skin.
My only complaint was the shade and tone. Much too light and pink toned. Such a shame! I would be tempted to try another shade of theirs.
