I'm the lucky Truth in Ager who was asked to review the AminoGenesis's DermaScyne Cream. DermaScyne is touted as a "wrinkle arrest" anti-aging day cream. Along with a SPF of 18, it has a "unique combination of 17 anti-aging amino acids and crucial moisture binding ingredients." Unlike Marta, I'm not an ingredient guru that can pick them out from the very long ingredient list. But I am able to notice the parabens, which I usually stay away from.

Normally thick creams that are also sunscreens feel heavy or greasy. DermaScyne however has a lovely consistency and light scent. It blends in smoothly, and didn't feel heavy on my skin at all. Just to give you some context, I am 35 years old and luckily I don't have many wrinkles to arrest. I used to have very sensitive skin, but since I cleaned up my skincare and only use the most natural products, my skin has gotten much healthier.  I bring this up because unfortunately the day after I used DermaScyne I woke up with a little red rough irritation. It would be unfair to blame my little red patch on DermaScyne, but I felt like I should back off it until it cleared up.

A week later I gave it another shot. The second time I used it I wanted to like it even more. I think because the weather had gotten cold I could really appreciate how moisturizing it is. My skin looked dewy and fresh. The sad news is once again the next day there was a tiny patch of irritation. This time you almost needed a microscope to see it, but being a diligent inspector, I could definitely see a few minuscule red spots. I still think it would be unfair to officially and formally blame DermaScyne, but I'm probably not going to use it again.
