This exfoliator comes from a wonderful company that prides itself on delivering products that live up to its claims. Not only are the ingredients high quality and all natural, but they are also derived in small batches at a time, using low temperature and pressure as to allow the products to remain potent and hold their integrity.
The first thing I noticed about Arcona’s Brightening Gommage ($52), was that it is a dual action exfoliator (very cool). In addition to being a powerful manual exfoliator with granules that massage and gently remove dull surface cells from your complexion… it also contains lightening ingredients! These come in the form of ascorbic acid and daisy extracts; no harsh chemicals that many skin lighteners contain that can completely ruin your skin if used improperly. Not only that, the stuff works.
After one use, I saw a huge difference and I exfoliate regularly with high-end products. So if you are struggling to rid yourself of stubborn hyperpigmentation marks from breakouts, like me, you have the manual exfoliation for the first stage of scar fading.
Next, after massaging the Gommage into your skin to help speed up cell turnover and get rid of those terrible red scars, leave the mask on for three to five minutes. Its second function works by gradually lightening any dark patches you may have, as well as kicking your melanocytes (responsible for hyperpigmentation) into low gear, which stops further pigment production. Pretty awesome stuff! I was quite impressed.
The scent of Brightening Gommage is slightly minty and has a cooling effect on the skin, which is nice when you’re buffing away dead skin cells in the shower. Its consistency is very thick and the color is green. The exfoliant is quite gritty but amazingly gentle. My skin is a bit sensitive to manual exfoliation and usually appears pink and irritated a bit following a deep cleanse. But it wasn’t pink in the slightest; only refreshed and glowing. My tone was more even and my overall complexion was no short of radiant.
Use this stuff a couple times a week, over your neck as well if you like. I highly recommend applying your favorite anti-aging serum after you’ve shed your outer layers. This is when those expensive ingredients can be absorbed deep enough to see skin improvements Following exfoliation, protect your investment and block those UVs with a good SPF.
Arcona Brightening Gommage is a great product. I’m so impressed that I went online to check out what else the brand has, and I’m considering trying one of their eye creams or serums.
