I have tried a number of natural body washes and was expecting the Arcona Infinite Odyssey Body Wash ($28 in the shop) to be about the same — not foaming or rich. I was very pleasantly surprised at how much this body wash foamed, even when using just a little of it. About 1/4 teaspoon applied to my shower puff yields a rich foam that covers my whole body.
The smell is heavenly. I know that some people don't like the strong smells of certain Arcona products, but the scent of this body wash isn't overpowering. I found it to be just enough to wake up my senses in the morning. It smells slightly citrusy and very energizing.
As with most Arcona products, the ingredient list is short and sweet. After deionized water, the second ingredient is shea butter, which probably contributes to its rich, moisturizing feeling. What is not in the list is toxic sodium laurel sulfate, the ingredient that usually gives body wash its foam.
The Arcona body wash is $28 for eight ounces. That might seem steep for a body wash, but I have been using it for about two months and still have a little more than half the bottle left. Because you only need to use a small amount, it will last for a long time. For a natural, foaming body wash, I think it's well worth the price.
