A great, reasonably priced find

Seldom comes along a face moisturizer that can be tolerated by those with oily skin, much less endorsed. The majority of us that were ‘blessed’ with oily skin seem to fight a never-ending battle against clogged pores, blackheads and blemishes and must choose our products carefully. Although moisturizers can provide skin nourishment and protection, I’ve always found them to be too thick and heavy. That may now be history.

For the past two and a half weeks I’ve been trying Magic White Ice moisturizer and I already see positive results. Made by Los Angeles based skin care company, Arcona, this is a daily hydrating gel (for all skin types) that is actually more of a very light serum consistency, dispensed from an airless pump. I liked that it absorbed immediately and left my skin matte, and although I usually favor unscented products, this has a very light and calming fragrance that reminded me of a spa. (The fragrance completely dissipates after only a couple of minutes.)

Reading the ingredients, I zeroed in on the hyaluronic acid that has kept my skin well moisturized and discovered totara extract (an antioxidant and bactericide) and grapefruit complex (promotes a healthy microbial balance). I believe the last two ingredients are likely responsible for halting the start of a small blemish in its tracks (it had almost disappeared the morning after application) and keeping my skin clear throughout use of the product. I’ve also noticed my skin has been slightly less oily while using this. It also contains beta-carotene and vitamins B-5, C, and E to help neutralize free radicals.

For a product that moisturizes and helps to keep skin clear, I think this is a great find and it’s also reasonably priced at $38 (1 oz). I am pleased with my results and plan to find a place for this product in my skin care arsenal.

I'm sorry this product is no longer available in the store. It's a great moisturizer for those of use who still have combination skin. I love it. It has a great scent, absorbs quickly and leaves my face feeling clean, soft and hydrated. I have found Arcona products on ebay and amazon, but would prefer to buy them here.
