A nourishing toner that heals problematic skin

Reviewed by Denise D.

Arcona Triad Pads ($30) are different than any other toner I’ve encountered – in a good way. Over the years, I’ve tried different toners and always find them to be overly drying, leaving my face feeling tight and stripped of any protective barrier. Arcona Triad Pads are nothing like that. This is a toner that promises to multitask and delivers. According to Arcona, these pre-soaked cotton pads protect, neutralize and nourish the skin with a choice combination of antioxidants, omegas and vitamin E. It can also act as a cleanser and makeup remover. No wonder I love these pads.

Arcona Triad Pads do exactly what they’re meant to do and then some. The product comes in an attractive, silver package with 45 largish, round cotton pads per container. It has the nicest, mild scent that is not at all overwhelming. It doesn’t tingle when applied, but rather leaves you feeling cool and refreshed. After use, my skin feels amazingly soft, like velvet. Each pad is soaked in enough solution to use on a clean face, neck and chest.

My skin was in a sensitive breakout phase when I received the Triad Pads, so I was concerned that it might irritate my already existing problem areas. To my surprise, the opposite happened; it actually calmed my skin. With a base of rice milk and witch hazel, these toner pads are both soothing and gentle. Small breakouts began to heal and enlarged pores shrank seemingly overnight. After three to four weeks of using the Triad Pads, my 44-year-old skin is amazingly clear of any breakouts or dry patches.

The ingredients in this toner may seem simple, but they’re effective. Cranberry acts as an antimicrobial packed with vitamins and nutrients to protect the skin. While vitamin E, tocopherol and tocotrienols work to neutralize free radicals (always a good thing). Finally, omegas 3, 6 and 9 – along with rice milk – nourish and heal skin. I definitely feel like my skin looks healthier and is more nourished (glowing, in fact) since I began using the pads. No question, I will be buying this again.
