Recommended for all hair types, especially for curly hair

I have temperamental, curly hair that likes to frizz at the slightest hint of humidity. If there’s one thing I’m guilty of, it’s being a hair-product junkie. I am in my 20s, and I already feel like I’ve been through the grinder with all things curly. That said, after many years of practice I know how to manage my hair and what will make it throw a tantrum.

I am usually very skeptical of leave-in conditioners because curly hair can tend to become oily at the roots and dry on the ends, which can be highlighted if too much product is used or left in. However, I took a chance on the Beauty Without Cruelty Revitalize Leave-In Conditioner ($9.95/8.5oz), and I’m so glad I did.

The first thing I noticed was that it smells great. This may be attributed to the lavender, citrus, and essential oils. I also appreciated the natural ingredients because overpowering, chemical scents tend to give me headaches. The consistency of the leave-in isn’t quite as thick as a rinse-out conditioner, and this gave me some hope that it would disperse evenly through my ends and roots.

During the month-long testing process with this conditioner, I shampooed my hair as usual, then used my regular conditioner – or the Beauty Without Cruelty product as my only conditioner. I used a nickel-sized dollop of conditioner, spreading more of it on the ends than in the roots.

I really didn’t expect to notice any results immediately, but I did! Not only is my hair curly, but it is also color treated. So while my ringlets look soft, they require a lot of conditioning. After only one use of this product, my hair felt noticeably softer. I almost never touch my hair while it’s drying or otherwise (because it will frizz up on me), but after using this I couldn’t stop feeling my hair. It felt so soft, but my curls were still light, bouncy and defined.

It should be noted that I did still use my Ouidad Climate Control Heat & Humidity Gel ($23/8.5oz), which I have sworn by for years now, after applying the leave-in conditioner because I am afraid to ever leave the house without product in my hair. Even with the use of this gel, I could still feel the difference the leave-in made to my hair.

This product really was a pleasant surprise. I am out of my bottle now – I used it all up! I will definitely be looking into more products from Beauty Without Cruelty.

When will this product be available in the shop? I have been on the lookout for a new leave in conditioner to tame my nemesis.

I love the sound of this. I've been getting by with Ouidad as well and am looking forward to trying this as alternative.

Hi! Curious to know if it helped with tangles? Sounds like a good one for curls!
