When one uses good quality makeup, one needs a high-quality makeup remover as well. Become, an Australian company that has a whole line of anti-aging skincare products, offers just that in the Age Resistant Creamy Cleanser ($24). It’s specifically formulated for gentle, yet effective face and eye makeup removal  plus skin rejuvenation.

I was privileged to test Age Resistant Creamy Cleanser, which comes in a posh, shiny red plastic cylinder with a space-age looking grooved snap-on cap. About two to three pumps of this delicate peach-colored cream, spread evenly and massaged on the face and eyes, were quite enough to melt away the makeup. It glides on, washes off quite smoothly and has a pleasantly light fruity fragrance. I used a damp cotton pad to remove all the foundation, eye shadow, mascara, oil and pollutants that nature piled on/I accumulated for the day. During times when I had applied evening makeup, I used an extra one to two pumps after the first cleansing just to make sure there were no makeup and dirt residues left.

The cleanser is packed with wholesome key ingredients, good enough to eat and provide additional treats not found in other ordinary cleansers. Apricot and avocado oil provide the moisturizing and nourishing benefits. It is said that sterolin, an active ingredient found in avocado oil, can reduce age spots, heal sun damage and plump skin cells. Aloe leaf juice soothes as well as moisturizes. Australian daisy, which contains a powerful botanical extract known for its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, is said to visibly reduce fine lines! It also contains vitamins B (panthenol) and E, as well as vitamin A in Retinyl Palmitate, which has antioxidants that help diminish wrinkles. Luxurious botanicals, such as green tea leaf extract, sunflower seed oil, sweet almond oil, jojoba seed oil and wheat germ oil are also included. Its fruity fragrance is derived from lavender oil, grapefruit peel oil and orange peel oil.

For the strictly purists, perhaps the only questionable ingredients are PEG-100 stearate and triethanolamine, but as a whole it is really a good and effective face cleanser that leaves the skin feeling truly clean, soft and ready to absorb whatever skin treatments one may have; such as toners, serums and lotions. However, priced at $24 for a 3.4 fl.oz. bottle, seems pricey for a face cleanser that will be wiped away afterwards. Though, it’s really a matter of personal preference and splurging capability.
