Best Regimen on a Budget

January 10, 2019 Reviewed by Marta 6 Comments

My continuous hunt for cutting edge ingredients can take me into expensive categories, such as growth factors and peptides, I do appreciate that I need to reign back from time to time and point you to a regimen that won’t break the bank, but is still effective. In the past year I have made some new finds that are budget friendly. There are all sorts of ways of achieving this without compromising on quality and effectiveness, such as concenrated formulas that require only tiny amounts for application, multitaskers and products that don't waste our money on fillers.

Here’s my selection of products that punch above their price point.

Start with a cleanser that multitasks. Skin 2 Skin AB/HA Exfolaiting Cleanser ($42 in the shop), is a brightener, pore tightener, exfolator as well as cleanser.

For those who have been gazing at fancy serums with high end antioxidants and getting sticker shock, look no further than Your Best Face Antioxidants Concentrate ($65 in the shop), a versatile anti-aging serum that can be used on its own or blended with other creams, masks and serums. This creamy blend contains heavy hitters such as ferulic acid, spin trap, lipochroman-6, resveratrol and glutathione. It is worth mentioning that Your Best Face's iconic Control ($160 in the shop) serum has been reformulated to be a do it all multitasker and offers nearly twice the amount of the old version at 1.7oz.

A new brand with rave reviews from the community is Replenish Plus. The key thing to appreciate is that the products's are highly concentrated and only a third of the amount typically used is required. So they are a great way to get more bang for your buck. Replenish Plus SkinJuvenation ($45.95 in the shop) is an antioxidant moisturizer with vitamins and omegas and Replenish Plus Skinn Maaxx ($36.95 in the shop) is a really pure squalane-based facial oil.

An usual product that falls somewhere between a serum, moiisturizer and mist is Scandic Ren Pre-Serum ($45 in the shop) and is cost-efficient way to give your skin some love with hyaluronic Acid, honey, botanical stem cells

Save money with a roller for both lips and eyes. Aireelle Age-Defying Eye + Lip Treatment ($68 in the shop) uses a special botanical antioxidant called Berrimatrix. Good for lip lines and crepey eyes. If you need to focus on the under eye, look no further than Skinveda Eye firming & Dark Circles Crème ($36 in the shop), a whipped cream is packed with plant peptides from quinoa and oats, nutrients essential to promote micro-circulation, and oils designed to combat dark circles and fine lines under the eye. Or there’s ExPürtise Effective Eye Serum, priced at $65, you’d be happy to pay a hundred bucks for your go-to natural, eye treatment for a myriad of concerns.

Prana’s well-designed day cream with SPF. Prana SpaCeuticals Purifying Day Lotion SPF 30 ($38 in the shop) moisturizes and protects while preventing blemishes (specially helpful for those with oily or acne-prone skin).

Thanks so much for sharing this info! I can't wait to receive my Deciem Hylamide SubQ Eyes (for which I looked here, first) and Hydra-Density Mist. It is so helpful to have a spectrum of options. My skin is so parched, I expect one day soon I'll crack in half! Hopefully I'll find a fitting product or two, before then. Cheers..

Hi Martha, thank you for highlighting the best budget conscious products that are effective and don’t break the bank. I had turned away from TIA for a while because I could not afford the products recommended with many of them over $100. Thanks for making TIA products attainable again for the budget conscious and average consumer. I’m sure there is a large segment of your customers that would welcome skincare below $65. Thank God for Deciem and YBF for making reasonably priced products. Thanks again, Martha.

When I read the first article, I immediately thought of Deciem’s Hylamide. SubQ anti-age is fabulous, and so it the anti-age eye. These products are hydrating without weight or stickiness, and I see anti- aging results on par with much more expensive products.
