I thoroughly enjoyed my Briogeo Volumizing Conditioner so I was pretty excited to try the Briogeo Be Gentle, Be Kind Cleansing Shampoo ($19). My hair is pretty thick, not damaged, and the wash and wear type — it suffers from occasional dryness due to constant use of hair dryers. I'm increasingly on the lookout for organic products, so I'm quite pleased to have discovered Briogeo.
The shampoo is sulfate-free. This is quite important for me because sulfates are harsh cleansing ingredients and they contribute to hair fall. Briogeo Be Gentle, Be Kind Cleansing Shampoo is made from naturally derived ingredients, and it gently cleanses my hair and rinses easily. It also has natural extracts of green tea, bamboo, aloe, and rosehip, with a dose of vitamin B5 for hair strengthening. It also has extracts of lemongrass, orange and papaya and I believe these fruits contribute to the awesome tropical smell too!
I used this shampoo every day for one month, just to see the results. I used this alone and in tandem with my Briogeo conditioner (which I've used to the last drop)!
After four weeks of use, my hair is shinier and healthier, with less hair fall and no residue build-up, which is great. However, I need to use conditioner to moisturize my hair adequately. Its main job is to cleanse the hair and leave it clean and thick and shiny. It works great as a once-a-week shampoo as well, part of rotating your shampoo stash to remove residue buildup, for those who would still like to use regular drugstore shampoos.
I highly recommend Briogeo Be Gentle, Be Kind Cleansing Shampoo to anyone who's looking for a sulfate-free shampoo with high quality natural ingredients, or for those people suffering from scalp sensitivity or excessive hair fall. Seriously, everyone should use organic shampoo because it works better! It gently cleanses and leaves hair healthier.
