While I'm out here in Paris, I had to pay tribute to one of the more popular Parisian beauty brands. Caudalie has been around for almost fifteen years, wooing women all over the world (my mom loves the brand). I have to admit I'm a sucker for grapes (their claim to fame) and when I arrived in the romantic city, I went straight to the pharmacy to pick up Caudalie Gentle Conditioning Shampoo ($18). Well, to be perfectly honest, I forgot to bring shampoo with me, so I needed to buy something anyway.

Caudalie Gentle Conditioning Shampoo is paraben-free, phenoxyethanol free and phthalate free. There are some sulfates and alcohol, but they're all derived from plants, which makes it so much better. There's some surfactants here that make your hair feel smooth and velvety and sleek. Caudalie Gentle Conditioning Shampoo actually has this delicious, sweet scent  that just lingers, thanks to the grape seed oil. Of course, the grape seed oil also helps nourish and moisturize, so it's a pretty beneficial ingredient. Oh, and there is a touch of vinegar, which is a little unusual (and there's a very super-subtle scent of it) but vinegar is known to add that shine to hair and helps prevent dandruff. It actually closes the cuticles, ultimately protecting it and forcing out that luster. There's also wheat proteins that help fortify those locks.

Because there's no super harsh chemicals, Caudalie Gentle Conditioning Shampoo is safe for all hair types. It does condition and it does it's job as a shampoo: clean. I have actually been growing my hair out for winter, thus a little more careful about what I'm using. Caudalie Gentle Conditioning Shampoo fits the bill for now!
