Chella - maker of one of my favorite facial masks, the Enzyme Formula Exfoliating Crema – has recently undergone a facelift with new orange and white packaging that gives it a modern, energetic edge. At the same time, it has been improving its formulas and launching new products, including a full service eyebrow conditioner and kit.

Devised with Hollywood brow beater, DeeDee Marcelli (who counts Paris Hilton and Celine Dion amongst her clients) the Chella Brow Full-Fillment Conditioning Treatment ($90) is aimed at those sparse of brow (that would be me). But what really differentiates it from any other eyebrow growth enhancers on the market (eg the CODE:ai serum or Librow) is that it can be bought along with a professional-style eyebrow grooming kit and all sorts of other brow accoutrements.

Now, I have never had my eyebrows professionally groomed (anyone looking at them might say that this is woefully obvious). But having seen DeeDee (who, by the way, has the most extraordinary mane of copper-colored Botticelli curls) demonstrate her skills earlier this week at the Chella Brow Full-Fillment launch, I now get the point. You can, as DeeDee put it, “bring brows back to life”.

She shared a few trade secrets as well, such as how one sweep of a dark pencil will make eyebrows look unnatural. For a true “your brows but better look”, you need to mix in light, dark or even auburn (Chella is selling pencils in four different colors for $18, plus stencils to help get that perfect arch).  One of my favorite tips was how to entice the man in your life to take control of his unplucked, wayward brows. Forget girly tweesers and give him a tiny razor. There happens to be one in the Chella grooming kit, so now all I have to do is wait until my husband is asleep....

The Chella Brow Full-Fillment Conditioning Treatment has very long list of ingredients. One of them is a peptide, Biotinoyl tripeptide-1, that also shows up in quite a few hair growth products, such as OOKISA shampoo, Librow for eyebrow growth and Cargo’s eyelash growth mascara. There are others that are also associated with hair growth such as saw palmetto, amino acids, various algae and a couple of members of the vitamin B family.
