I’m in my early 30s and have slight fine lines around my eyes – some crow’s feet at the sides and lines below from spending my entire 20s in tanning beds and never using SPF in the sun. And of course they’ve come from being an expressive person. I laugh and smile a lot and never owned a pair of sunglasses until a few years ago. So I was happy to give an eye cream a try and was given the Chella Line Antidote Micro Fill Concentrate ($75)
The eye cream is contained in an airless pump container and has a thick and pasty consistency. A single pump of product seems to be enough, although it doesn’t move very well over the skin. I tried more than one pump just to see if it would apply and cover better than the one and it was too much. My other products and makeup made it tacky and messy. Not a good look. One pump is plenty if you can get it to pump. It seemed to clog overnight and sometimes needed an extra pump or two.
The Micro Fill Concentrate is transparent when smoothed on the skin, even though the cream has a bit of color, and dries quite quickly. The directions state you can use around the eyes, lips and forehead. I have Botox in my forehead and I don’t have any lines around my mouth, so I just used around my eyes. I discontinued my other eye cream during my trial. Following the directions, I applied twice daily – once in the morning after cleansing my skin and before applying my SPF and makeup, then again in the evening after removing my makeup and cleansing my face before bed.
After applying one pump under and beside my eyes, where I have fine lines and creases, I applied SPF and my foundation over it and had no problem with tackiness at all. It filled in my fine lines nicely enough for them to be difficult to see after application. Unfortunately, the product didn’t hold up throughout the day. About four to five hours later (after being at work and speaking with many people during this time), I had smiled and squinted the product out of the creases around my eyes. Too bad. It looks great upon first application. Maybe you could use it for an evening date or outing. But I wouldn’t apply it in the morning for full day’s wear.
Chella claims that the Micro Fill Antidote has anti-aging benefits that will help to gradually diminish your fine lines over time. But, unfortunately, I did not notice any improvement, and I wore it daily until I used up the product, despite not being a fan of how it wore throughout the day.
Overall, it was a great concept of a dual line filler and anti-aging cream. But it was one that didn’t deliver, at least not for me.
