As someone who loves skin care, I must confess that I do have a drawer where anti-aging creams, lotions and serums go to die. The expensive creams that promise “instant results” or are clinically-proven to make you look 10 years younger? Yep, I’ve fallen for that marketing hook, line and sinker. However, the eternal hope that someday I will find that one product that actually lives up to its claims keeps me casting my line into the proverbial fountain of youth.
If you’re still reading, you’ve probably picked up on the fact that I’ve become jaded and a little cynical over the years (44 to be exact). And this middle-aged neck needs more than marketing claims to turn things around. Somewhere around 30, I started noticing my neck and décolleté were looking a little rough and realized the tanning I was doing made it look worse. At that point, I started being a little more careful with the sun, but wouldn’t you know I was a little late to the sunscreen party? The damage had already been done in my younger years. Things only got worse as time marched on. When I went to the hairdresser a few years ago, she put the cape around my neck a little tight, and I noticed my neck skin looked loose and saggy. I had a serious case of early-onset turkey neck. That was the moment I knew I had to do something to improve the look and feel of my neck, but as you may know, it is a very difficult area to treat.
When the Truth In Aging team asked me to test Clarity RX Keep your Chin Up Age-Defying Neck Serum ($60.50 in the shop), I didn’t have high hopes. I’ve scrubbed, rubbed and masked this area to no avail. What would a serum possibly do that my drawer ‘o shame had not? Well, this stuff is different. It is a highly-concentrated serum that uses antioxidants like resveratrol, hyaluronic acid, vitamin C and a handful of the powerful peptides you’ve likely read about lately. Acetyl hexapeptide 8, which is also known as Argireline, and acetyl hexapeptide-30 relax wrinkles while acetyl dipeptide-13 diphenylglycine helps to tighten the skin.
As for the results? The lines around my neck have dramatically decreased, the tone and clarity have improved beyond what I thought possible, and most impressive of all, my skin actually snaps back like it used to. The sagging and discoloration have improved tenfold. I’m not easily impressed, and I am totally blown away by the improvements I’ve witnessed in just a month of testing.
Thecontainer is small (half-ounce), but the results are mighty. And because it is so concentrated, a little goes a long way. I have been using the serum twice daily for a month and still have product left. There is no flowery or chemical smell, it goes on smooth and soaks in quickly. This is one product that will take a place of honor on my bathroom counter. If you’ve all but given up hope of rejuvenating your neck and décolleté without expensive cosmetic procedures, I urge you to give this a try.
