My excitement was great when I opened my mailbox and there was my first TIA reader's assignment. Excuse the drama, but it was nice to be a part of the reviewing community that I try to avidly read and absorb. My product was Demophisiologique's Anti-Aging Lifting Serum (that's the English version of the Italian name of Serum Lifting Anti-Aging).

My expectations were great as this trial would start in 2009 and finish in 2010. Perhaps as we entered a new decade my using an anti-aging product might take me back to where my skin was when it became 2000. A little skin background: I am in my late 40s, am blond and blue-eyed and have nearly always lived in the dry desert where I have normal to sometimes dry skin. As an avid outdoors woman I use sunscreen daily, but do not hide from the sun. My skin looks more elastic and smooth than most women my age, thanks mom and dad.

Now for the trial, I began to use the serum morning and night. The directions were not clear and I based this twice daily usage upon their mentioning it. I found that, even with sunscreen, I was getting several dark spots on my forehead and cheeks. Immediately ceasing a double dose, I retreated to using it only at night and thereby avoiding having it on my face when I was outside. I studied the website, which can be accessed in English, and even called the representative in New York for some 'how to' explanations. I still never quite felt that I had clear directions for using the product. While the serum does not mention moisturizing, I suppose I expected it to do a bit of lifting and moisturizing. I found my skin to feel dry and a bit tight and ended up changing my moisturizer after a couple of weeks into the trial. With a stronger moisturizer I no longer felt like my skin was so tight.

How did I look? I'd do anything to say that I saw a great change, but alas, I did not. My décolleté did appear to be smoother, but I did not notice a change in my facial skin. Perhaps if the product is used on a different type of skin or a different climate there might be another result. After the product is completely gone I may see a reversal of a change that I was not aware of occurring. For now this is it, I'll let you know if I need to do an anti-aging 2!
