Having turned 50 this year, I’m always on the lookout for new advances in anti-aging products that really work.  I decided I’m not getting older without a fight!  I was excited when I was asked to test Dermagenics Ultra Intensive Anti-aging Moisturizer ($85).  Upon review of the list of ingredients, I recognized some of them, including squalane, peptides, sodium hyaluronate and allantoin, etc. having previously read of their effectiveness on aging skin.  I’m definitely not an expert on skin care ingredients by any means, but I try to be somewhat knowledgeable.

I have been using this product twice a day for approximately six weeks.  When I began using it, I noticed that it had a nice, light, creamy texture that absorbed quickly into my skin.  It is unscented which I prefer in a facial skin cream since scented creams make my skin break out.

As the weather is getting colder where I live in the Midwest, my skin is getting drier and requires a more potent moisturizer than in the summer.  In the past, I have found some of the heavy duty moisturizers to be too greasy.  Dermagenics proved to be a perfect cream for hydration.  I found this to be the best result of using the product.

However, the most important test for me was whether or not the product would eliminate the fine lines I have underneath my eyes and on my forehead.  I can report that after six weeks, they are still there, although they may have been minimized.  It’s difficult to tell, as I did not take before and after pictures – but I did study my skin prior to use.  The texture of my skin looks great and my enlarged pores may be less noticeable than before.  I don’t believe there is any difference in the firmness of my skin.

Overall, I would recommend this product based on the excellent hydration benefits. However, it would depend on the price on whether or not I would purchase it.  If it is expensive, I don’t believe I would purchase it because I think there may be other skin creams out there that may prove to be more effective at eliminating fine lines and wrinkles and tightening the skin.

I will continue my search for the BEST skin cream out there!
