Dermalogica Close Shave Oil- reviewed and recommended
While one would think shave oil is best with straight razors, it helps soften facial hair for any kind of trim. Dermalogica Close Shave Oil came as the perfect solution for a mediocre (sorry, Braun!) set of clippers, or any for that matter. It also has a great, citrusy, herbal scent that's uplifting and relaxing. When I applied it, I couldn't help but take a deep breath through my nostrils. It helped ameliorate the harshness of the shave (I don't like to complain much, but when the blades snag your facial hair, it's truly tortuous). The oil is super smooth and really helped soften the hairs. The shave was smooth and quite comfortable.
Dermalogica Close Shave Oil contains some great oil extracts, like tea tree leaf, lavender, orange, basil, ylang ylang, pine and thyme, among others. Just imagine the incredible burst of scent. One of the key ingredients is tea tree, great for skin relief (especially the scalp, so of course equally relieving for your face where hair grows). Lavender is soothing and my favorite scent, so it's already a winner in my book. The top ingredients (as I would suspect) are those you can hardly pronounce (not a good sign) but after some investigation, they are basically other oils that help further lubricate.
I never had a problem with facial hair snags before the Braun clippers but now that I know Dermalogical Close Shave Oil is the perfect solution, I don't have to replace clippers again.
