They say that no matter how young, smooth, or firm a woman’s complexion is, you can always tell her age by looking at her neck and hands. Well, my neck and hands are in desperate need of firming and toning. Luckily, I was given the opportunity to try two of Dermophisiologique’s XtraTone products, the body cream and the face and décolleté cream!

On the box of the XtraTone Visage and Décolleté Cream, it states:

High-tech emulsion, specifically formulated to deal with a lack of muscle tone and slack skin. Smoothes and tightens skin for a more youthful look. The Matrikina/Ceramide 2 molecule effectively counters the real causes of slack skin, while jojoba oil, rich in natural anti-oxidants, has an immediate lifting effect on the delicate skin of your face and neck. Fragrance free. The result: Your skin is firmer and better toned, wrinkles are smoothed and the shape of your face improved over time.

Use: Apply by briefly and gently massaging into face, neck and décolleté daily after cleansing.

Perfect! This was made for me. I was so excited! First of all, I loved the vacuum pump container. There was no cap to lose. You just twist the top to the right and the pump pops up. To close, twist it left. Ingenious! One pump of the cream was the perfect amount for my face, neck, and décolleté. So faithfully, for over a month, twice a day after cleansing, I gently massaged this cream into my face, neck and décolleté. The texture was light and creamy. It absorbed quickly and left my skin feeling soft.

So you are probably wondering, “Is her crepey and saggy neck gone? Did her dreams come true? Does she have a more youthful look?” With all of my hoping and wishing and gently massaging twice daily, I am sorry to say that there were no noticeable changes… sigh....

It did leave my skin moisturized, but my “slack skin” is still slacking. There was no tightening. Just so you know, I used the Sirius brush three times a week at night before applying the cream to enhance the absorption.

Now for the XtraTone Body Cream - this box states:

Intensive Firming Body Cream: physiological firming micro-emulsion with liquid crystals. Thanks to the firming action of Hyaluronic Acid, specific amino acids and Centella phytosomes and the exclusive patented AtiPEnergy, this cream helps prevent and combat the real causes for a lack of tone and relaxation. It remodels your silhouette and immediately makes tissues more compact and elastic. The result: Slack skin is visibly improved and prevented, and your figure gradually becomes smoother, firmer and thinner.

Use: Apply with a light massage everyday, insisting on critical areas (abdomen, glutei, inside thighs, inside arms and breast).

My goodness! After reading this, I wanted to bathe in it for a month and emerge out of the tub a new woman. Of course, none of my clothes would fit, so I decided to follow the directions and become smoother, firmer, and thinner a little slower.

For a month, I applied this cream to my body, but concentrated on my arms and hands. I am somewhat conscious about my hands because they’ve always looked older. This vacuum pump has a cap to remove before dispensing. The cream has a pale yellow color with a light whipped consistency. It absorbed quickly with no greasy feel. However, the fragrance of this cream was overwhelming. I had a very difficult time with the powerful vanilla fragrance, but I convinced myself that if this body cream works, I would gladly live with the scent. After all, you sometimes have to pay a price for beauty. I don’t wear perfume, but I could see this cream interfering with one’s perfume.

The results? This cream is a good moisturizer and my skin felt smooth after applying it. As for having firmer skin and becoming thinner? Unfortunately, there was no change. Maybe I needed to give it more time - and I would have, but the fragrance was a deterrent.

And so my quest continues... to find a treatment for my crepey, saggy neck and all.
