Dermophisiologique's Cleansing Milk- reviewed and recommended

Dermophisiologique Cleansing Milk

The cold weather has wreaked havoc on my skin. For starters, my mid-20s skin is a bit schizo – it can be excessively dry in the colder months, way too oily in the warmer ones, sometimes acne prone, and mildly sensitive at best. Coming up with a skin regimen has been a bit of a trial-and-error and I have yet to find my holy grail product.

So, it’s nice to quite serendipitously come across a face wash that is actually cooperating with my skin. I was given a sample of Italian brand Dermophysiologique’s Cleansing Milk ($38 for a full size) to try. With not much info on the sample bottle, I decided to use it as an alternative to my current acne face wash which was proving to be way too drying for the winter. The first thing I noticed was that the creamy liquid was soft and non-foaming, but seemed to be way more moisturizing than my regular wash.

I began using it regularly without really “looking” for something to happen. After about a week mark though, I noticed my face seemed brighter and my complexion a little more even. I had to stop to think what I was doing different, without even realizing that the only thing that I changed in my daily routine was using Dermophysiologique’s face wash. It’s been two weeks now and my skin doesn’t have that ‘stripped’ feeling after cleansing, which I love.

I did some reading up on the ingredients. It contains prunus dulcis or sweet almond oil which is not only moisturizing, but said to even out your skin complexion. It also contains hydrating olive fruit oil which was heaven to my parched skin. I did get a small zit on my chin after I started using it, so I began alternating between Dermophysiologique and my own acne wash to contain it. This may have been caused by sodium benzotriazlyn butylphenol sulfate. This helps protect ingredients from UV light and can cause slight irritation. But I’m so pleased with the brighter effects so far!
