Doctors still looking for eczema cure

Eczema sensitive skin

It has been over a year since the FDA approved the first biologic to help treat symptoms for adults with moderate-to-severe atopic dermatitis, an injectable called Dupixent. Yet, far from bringing relief for eczema sufferers, doctors are still calling for safe, effective and affordable eczema solutions for adults.

Dupixent is a self-administered injection that is comprised of an antibody designed to slow the overactive communication of the two proteins in the body that are thought to initiate the inflammation responsible for flare-ups. It promised to treat the underlying causes, rather than simply manage the symptoms.

102 dermatologists were surveyed by RealTime Dynamix: Atopic Dermatitis. Only 14% of respondents noted that they have had any patients inquire about eczema, atopic dermatitis, or Dupixent. One problem that was cited was the cost of the drug. With few patients using it, doctors don’t have enough first-hand knowledge of its efficacy. Though Dupixent has undoubtedly filled an unmet need, dermatologists are still wanting more options in atopic dermatitis. When asked about the top attributes they would like to see in a new agent, safety-conscious dermatologists first cite lack of serious adverse events, followed by efficacy in reducing the affected body surface area. (Source)

I had a recent flare of eczema on my right eyelid. I got almost immediate relief from using Evanhealy Wild Carrot Nourishing Eye Balm.
