Another fine anti-ager from DDG

Pros

Impacts fine lines and dark spots

Cons

Takes several weeks to see results

Tested for 30 days by Julie

I was very happy to be notified that I had been chosen to test DDG C+ Collagen Deep Cream ($72 in the shop). Having been a very good customer and student of TIA for many years I know that Dr. Dennis Gross is renowned as a highly respected and reputable engineer of anti-aging products that provide recognizable results.

I had it in my mind the areas I would target if I was chosen. Now that I have reached the 60 milestone I have some very stubborn lip lines that have surfaced. No matter what I try, and I have tried several products, they continue to hang around. I also have some hyperpigmentation areas on my jaw line and very noticeable aging spots on my chest area. Though these are tough subject matter for a four week trial, I knew any inroads on these would be much appreciated by myself and provide encouraging results to share with others.

This lovely cream comes in a very pretty orange jar. There is quite a bit of product in the jar and while it looks like it would be a very heavy cream, it is actually very light and absorbs readily into your skin leaving no residue.  It plays very nicely with makeup – I experienced no pilling at all. The scent is a pleasant clean citrus that dissipates quickly as well. I know there are those who will cry foul with the jar container and will give it a demerit right off the bat but I had absolutely no issue with the packaging.

When you check out the ingredients in this moisturizing packed cream you will be hard pressed to find anything that could do anything but HELP your skin.  The camellia japonica seed oil which is fourth in line of the ingredients is also known as Tea Seed Oil.  Well known for its anti-inflammatory properties it aids in wound and skin healing and is rich in vitamin E.  The 3-O-ethyl ascorbic acid is a super cocktail of Vitamin C contributing to minimizing and preventing the appearance of hyperpigmentation, pesky fine lines and wrinkles.

Another heavy lifter is acetyl hexapeptide-8, often known as Argiineline, a neuropeptide that helps with expression lines.  And yet another super power is superoxide dismutase – an important antioxidant and anti-aging fighter that helps reduce free radical damage to the skin, also softening wrinkles, fine lines, scar tissue, age spots and kick starts wound healing.

As you can see this cream is chockful of anti-aging helpers that will be a welcome addition in the quest for healthy, well moisturized skin.

The only ingredient that gave me pause, and that is due to my extreme skin sensitivity, is undaria pinnatifiada extract (seaweed) but my skin tolerated it in the areas I was concentrating on so I had no adverse reaction to (thankfully) report.

I do know from the TIA website that lip lines and age spots are some of the hardest areas to tackle.  Having used AQ Serum for many years and other heavy hitting anti-aging products am sure these have helped jump start the effects of the DDG C + Collagen Deep Cream for me. I applied the cream twice daily to the targeted areas, in the morning after my anti-aging serum and again at night. The first few weeks I was closely watching for changes but I didn’t see much difference. Though my skin was nicely moisturized it wasn’t eradicating the lines or spots that I was hoping for. After week three and going into week four is when I started to actually notice any headway in these areas. Though they are by no means gone, I am seeing some progress with my lip lines and hyperpigmentation, more than with any other product I have tried!

The skin on my neck and upper chest is smoother and a pesky spot near my eye has lightened up tremendously!  I am sure that with continued use I will notice even further improvement in these areas and I feel confident to positively endorse this luxurious, good-for-your-skin cream as an excellent discovery and investment in the battle against dryness, wrinkles, fine lines, hyperpigmentation, and age spots. Another fine anti-aging item in Dr. Dennis Gross’s ever growing product line!

Thank you for your thorough review Julie. You reminded me that I have been using this on my neck and backs of hands and have seen my skin brighten and lighten - but, as you say, it is a slow burner. I am happy to say that patience is revwarded.
