A serum that works quickly to illuminate skin tone, but takes more time to fade spots and discoloration

Moisturizes skin and brightens complexion

Does not immediately show effects of fading spots and acne scars

I received a sample of E’shee Serum Intensive Brightening ($119) to try for a month. E'shee claims that this serum will fade and brighten dark spots, acne scars, sun damage and hyperpigmentation. The serum is also supposed to improve overall tone and texture.

The key ingredients are vitamin C in the form of ascorbic acid and m-tranexamic acid, which E'shee describes as a "cutting-edge active ingredient that reduces melanin generation." A little goes a long way with this product. When I saw the size (0.34 oz or 10 ml) I thought that there was no way that little vial would last a month. Using two to four drops twice a day on my face, I still have about two thirds of the product left.

The product is an oil, but it absorbs very quickly upon application and is not greasy. I found my face felt moisturized after applying, but if you have dry skin you will probably need to use a moisturizer. I did not notice any fragrance other than a very slight chemical smell.

I am in my late 30s with some acne scars. While I can say my overall complexion seemed brighter, I did not see much fading of the acne scars. I have sensitive skin, so I was pleased that this did not cause any breakouts. I have had problems with using any products with vitamin C in the past.

From Marta's review, it appears this may take several months to show any significant fading, so I will continue using and will update my review after several months. For now, my take is that this is a stable form of vitamin C that works for those of us with sensitive skin. I would recommend it for that reason alone, but I think if it can fade spots and acne scars over the course of several months (which this one vial will supply), then the price is a bargain.
