While I was thrilled to be asked to do another review for Truth in Aging, this one required the ultimate sacrifice: shaving in the winter. I’m just kidding - I do shave year-round, but the best thing about adding Eco-Armour Shaving Foam in Eucamint ($24) to the ordeal meant I could cut down the frequency even more. I enjoyed this product and recommend it to others.

This product claims to virtually eliminate nicks and cuts, future ingrown hairs, and razor bumps. While I don’t typically suffer from these ailments using commercial shaving cream and my trusty Venus shaver and blades, I definitely noticed much softer skin on my legs. I also tried Eco-Armour along the bikini line but did get some mild irritation the first time (red bumps). However, this was before I read the directions to apply the foam for at least 60 seconds before shaving, so the results might be better that way. Or it could be the peppermint or tea-tree oil that was mildly irritating. I did try the leave-on method on my legs but given that the foam is much lighter than typical shaving cream, it ran down my legs too quickly in the shower to soak into my skin.

Eco-Armour Shaving Foam can also be used as a body wash. I only tried this once but enjoyed it. I am a big fan of anything minty (except, perhaps, applied to delicate areas). The most unusual thing about this foam was the idea of applying it to the razor blade after shaving to extend the life of the blade. I was very consistent about this and was rewarded by a long-lasting edge - no more rummaging around my bathroom soaking wet searching desperately for my last new razor blade!
