I was delighted to receive the ExPurtise Effective Anti-Aging Enzyme Peel ($52) for testing. I have not always been a fan of peels, as they have often left my skin feeling dry. However, I found this peel to be amazing. It left my skin feeling better than before putting it on. Expurtise promises softer, brighter, more hydrated skin with use, and I concur.

The directions suggest using the peel once or twice weekly for five to 10 minutes each time, depending on skin sensitivity. I used this peel twice a week for four weeks and left it on for the full ten minutes. After rinsing off the peel and patting my face dry, my 60-year-old, very dry skin felt like a baby's bottom! It was instantly smoother and more radiant.

Effective Anti-Aging Enzyme Peel is pH balanced (making it choice for all skin types), gluten-free and free of harsh ingredients like parabens and synthetic fragrance. There is a long list of lovely ingredients which help to increase cell turnover and provide a toxin-deflecting shield. The exfoliating complex consists of starfruit, wild apricot, kiwi, purple mangosteen and pineapple. This peel also uses the alpha hydroxy acids glycolic and lactic acid, as well as retinyl palmitate, to accelerate cell turnover. Antioxidants and hydrating oils are included to nourish and protect the skin during this process.

I had no adverse reactions to the peel during the four weeks of using it. There was absolutely no redness, irritation or peeling of the skin. I would also like to note that it is truly unscented. Some "unscented" products, especially peels, have a lingering chemical fragrance, but this does not. It was much appreciated, as I am very sensitive to fragrance in skin care.

Expurtise recommends following the peel with an application of their face serum and treatment. I only had the ExPurtise Effective Anti-Aging Face Serum on hand, and so I used a different cream to top it all off. I doubt you need the two additional products to reap the rewards, as my skin reacted well to this regimen.

I wish I found this peel sooner. I'm sure it will continue to perform for me. After four weeks of twice-weekly use, there is still enough product left for at least another month, and I will definitely use it up. The results are well worth the price!
