Exuviance Age Reverse- reader reviewed

Is a Solution for:

I was hoping for beautifully transformed skin after my 12 week trial of the Exuviance Age Reverse line (by NeoStrata). Their claim is that, used synergistically, this line would "reverse all signs of aging such as sagging skin, the look of deeper wrinkles and discoloration, improve skin clarity, and restore a smooth, youthful surface texture." This line contains PHA's (see Marta's great post on this newer generation of AHA's), peptides, and botanicals, with silicones, PEGs, some preservatives and other potential irritants added into the mix.

My experience: Nothing dramatic.

I have aging, drying skin (which has transitioned from oily/combo skin over the past 5 years or so) that tends to be acne prone, has a few broken capillaries and discolored spots, has large, easily congested pores, and is developing lines around the eye and mouth area. After using this line faithfully on one half of my face, I have noticed only slightly smaller, less congested pores around the nose area, slightly softer skin, and perhaps a slight reduction/plumping of lines around the eye area.

The BioActiv Wash ($35) is a soap free, exfoliating wash that is touted to be suitable for all skin types. I found it to be drying and definitely had to use a moisturizer afterward. It comes in a plastic pump, has a creamy-foamy texture and a delightfully light, clean scent. To effectively remove makeup, I had to massage this onto a slightly damp face for a minute or so before easily rinsing off. I would not purchase this cleanser as I have found others that I like just as well that are not as drying.

The Night Lift cream ($72) contains AHA's, PHA's, peptides, and antioxidants. It comes in an airless pump tube (love) that stands upside down on its lid and delivers a controllable amount with each pump. It is a rich, but quickly absorbed cream that has good "slip" (contains dimethicone) and an almost imperceptible fragrance that fades quickly. This is the only product in this line that I would consider for future purchase since it moisturizes without leaving my face greasy and it did not seem to cause breakouts. I even used this as a day cream at times and it worked well under makeup without feeling heavy.

The Day Repair cream ($60) contains peptides, retinol, antioxidants, "patented NeoGlucosamine" (to increase cell renewal), and has SPF 20 provided by avobenzone, octinoxate and octisalate. It comes in the same airless pump delivery system as the night cream. This lightweight cream takes longer to absorb, feels a bit tacky, and has a light chemical sunscreen odor that fades, but doesn't totally disappear. While this initially seems to be moisturizing, my skin later felt dry and I often needed to apply the night cream to give added moisture. The day cream alone has a tendency to ball up under makeup (liquid or cream) and cause a dry, patchy application. I was having trouble with breakouts during the first couple of weeks of using this line, so I stopped using this day cream for a week to see if this was the cause and used the night cream in place of it. The pimples cleared up. When I resumed using this cream, my skin again reacted with small breakouts (perhaps related to the chemical sunscreens). Nevertheless, I continued to use the day cream to see if I would experience any benefit from it. I will not be purchasing this product in the future.

The Eye Contour cream contains PHA's, Gluconolactone, hyaluronic acid, and caffeine. This also comes in an airless pump, is a light and easily absorbed cream, and is very lightly fragranced. It provides a smooth base for applying under-eye concealer and does not cause it to later "melt" into lines. I have noticed a smoother under-eye area and perhaps slight softening/plumping of lines. I had no issues with watery eyes or burning when using this, but did occasionally develop milia (never a problem with other eye creams I have used). I will not be purchasing this product primarily because it caused milia and I did not see enough results with reduction of lines, puffiness, or dark circles.

I bought this line from Ulta three weeks ago. I use it morning and night. So far I have seen no difference in the lines and wrinkles. So far I am not pleased with this purchase as it cost me about 300.00 for the four items. I will continue to use up the product and see if by the time I finish it I will see some sort of results but as I said so far nothing. I have used many over the counter products with no results that is why I tried this line of product and the person who sold it to me said I would see results with lines, wrinkles etc. We will see what happens when I finish the product.

My daughter has always had uneven complexion. Not smooth at all until she used these products. She bought the introductory kit. Her skin is so smooth and pretty now. She is so happy . She even looks younger. So happy for her. I recommend it to anyone. Take your time using it. It works. Did for her.

I agree with you about the day cream it was sticky and didn't absorb well it turned into balls in the summer but it was better in the wintwr.I love the night cream i had very dry skin on forehead and it cleared it up completely. I love the eye cream it diminished the fine lines under my eye but didn't take away dark circles.

Thankfully, this was sent to me as a VIP trial of the line, so I wasn't out any money. I'm glad I had the opportunity to try it for myself, especially since I have such finicky skin. It might work better for another skin type, but Exuviance claims the skin improvements aren't fully realized until 12-16 weeks, so it would be a time investment risk.

Noel, Thank you so very much for writing this review. Looks like it cost you a fair amount of $$ and time to try this line. Thank you for sharing this information to help all of us. Money aside...the time it takes to try out products is something that's more valuable to me than the money. If a product doesn't deliver, the time is gone, you can't ever get that back and time is worth so much that we can't assign a monetary value to it. Thank you for giving and trying to save us some 'time' Noel ~
