Fine Lines, Wrinkles

Forehead wrinkles are a common problem for many women. They can be caused by common facial movements such as frowning or raising the eyebrows, as well as environmental factors like sun exposure and air pollution. However, their basic cause — as with other wrinkles — is our bodies' decreasing production of collagen and the subsequent weakening of elastin in our skin.

Fortunately, there are many effective treatments for treating forehead lines without having to resort to Botox or dermal fillers. The following recommended anti-aging skin care products are some of the favorites of the TIA community for smoothing forehead lines.

Sciote Super Moist Hyaluronic Serum ($75 in the shop) contains 50% hyaluronic acid and Methyl Sufonyl Methane (MSM), which is purest form of sulphur, to promote hydration and treat dry skin. It's non-comedogenic and gives skin a firmer, brighter complexion.
Reviewer Judy found that she "noticed an improvement in the appearance of forehead and lip lines, as my skin looks less 'dessicated' and has a plumpness to it, which is great."

E'shee Clinical Esthetic Multi-Tensor Extreme Face Lift Serum ($159) delivers TGF-beta, a growth factor found in abundance in whey protein, to reduce the visible signs of skin aging by plumping, lifting and firming the skin for a more contoured appearance.
Marta found that "after several weeks, my jawline looked more contoured, my cheeks firmer and my forehead actually seemed a little lifted, as well as less noticeably lined."

Another recommended serum from Marta is Skinfinite Peptide Repair Serum ($69 in the shop), a deeply-penetrating serum containing plant-based stem cells, peptides, growth factors and antioxidants to help repair fine lines and wrinkles.
Marta found that it was "packed with many of the cutting-edge antioxidants and growth factors of more expensive products" and that "it worked well, especially on my forehead lines."

MD Solar Sciences Evening Facial Repair Serum ($96) is a nighttime serum formulated with encapsulated and stabilized retinol to even out skin tone, brighten dull and damaged skin, and repair fine lines and wrinkles.
Reviewer Judy "was particularly interested in the impact on my forehead and upper lip areas," and "After a few uses, I found that there were definite improvements in the appearance of my dry skin. My fine lines and wrinkles did appear softer, and I also noted improved skin tone – a healthy-looking glow. "

Facial Creams and Masks

Prana SpaCeuticals Restore ($68) is an evening moisturizer  that revitalizes dehydrated and dull skin. It combines soy, ubinquinone, grape seed oil, alpha lipoic, lactic and glycolic acids to help repair sun damage, repair fine lines and make for more supple, radiant skin.

Reviewer Phyllis said that "The fine lines around my eyes and lips smoothed out tremendously. It helped the lines on my forehead as much as was possible; the lines on my forehead are more pronounced than the lines around my eyes and lips so I was really impressed with this product."

Lumavera Oxygenating Masque ($70) uses deep oxygen-enhancing action to decongest pores and hydrate skin while peptides and plant stem cells firm sagging skin. This serum-like mask improves collagen and elastin production and exfoliates to brighten skin for a more radiant complexion.
Reviewer Denise said that "At 45, I've come to accept the horizontal lines on my forehead, but I did a double take in the mirror after the first week using this mask. My skin looked radiant, much firmer and the forehead lines were there, but smoother with a fraction of their previous depth."

Snowberry Bright Defence Night Cream ($67) brightens and deeply hydrates the skin while you sleep. This soothing formula calms the skin, while gently reducing the causes of skin discoloration and loss of radiance. Containing anti-irritancy actives and a combination of natural oils, this night cream won't over-dry or irritate the skin.
Reviewer Kai said that "My fine lines and wrinkles around my mouth, eyes, and forehead are getting less visible which is what I had hoped for."

La Vie Celeste Restorative Exfoliating Gel Mask ($60 in the shop) is formulated with a gentle, but effective 5% glycolic concentration in an organic aloe vera base that will not only brighten skin but will also help with those forehead lines and control your T-zone of oily and breakout-prone skin.
This facial mask is one of Marta's "favorite products of all time," and she feels that for "for kick starting a serious anti-aging skin regimen, [glycolic acid] is essential."
