First snake venom, now bullfrogs

February 26, 2008 Reviewed by Marta 0 Comments

The skin of bullfrogs could prove to be the next anti-aging, wrinkle defying ingredient. Bullfrog skin and muscles produce anti-oxidants that are 10% more powerful than vitamin E. Not only is frog peptide cheaper than tocopherol (the usual source of vitamin E), but is water soluble and so could make its way into beauty drinks. Yum.

Korean scientists at Pukyong University made the discovery and have just published the results in an academic journal called Biosource Technology.
