Five Best for wrinkles 2017

September 12, 2017 Reviewed by Marta 0 Comments
I surprised myself to discover that my first Five Best for wrinkles was in 2016. Perhaps it was so obvious a topic for Truth In Aging that it only seemed to be an annual staple. Anyway, now it has become one with this post. Wrinkles are not all equal and there actives that tackle different types with targeted technologies. I have attempted to give them fair representation in the Five Best for wrinkles 2017.
  • ClarityRX Get Fit

ClarityRX Get Fit ($105.75 in the shop) When we brought this on board last year, I declared it a game changer. The TIA community seems to agree with me as it gets bought over and over. It is all down to a very focused formula that does not try to do it all but really goes for those expression lines (frowns, crow’s feet etc with a powerful combination of six peptides, neuropeptides for reducing expression lines and Matrixyl 3000 for boosting collagen, plus hyaluronic acid and that’s about it. The only thing to dislike is phenoxyethanol.

  • MitoQ Skin Boosting Active Night Cream

MitoQ Skin Boosting Active Night Cream ($145 in the shop) New from MitoQ and, of course, boasting the eponymous and powerful antioxidant that targets mitochondria, this night serum seems to work on elasticity. Wrinkles seem to fade as skin becomes, over time, more supple. A very good companion for MitoQ is the peptide palmitoyl tripeptide-38 that goes by the name of Matrixyl Synthe’6. It regulates cell activity, wound repair and collagen tissue remodeling. Specifically, as the name suggests it stimulates six major constituents of the skin matrix and the dermal-epidermal junction. The third key active is the anti-aging workhorse niancinamide.

  • Dr. Dennis Gross C+ Collagen Brighten and Firm Vitamin C Serum

Dr. Dennis Gross C+ Collagen Brighten and Firm Vitamin C Serum ($78 in the shop). Dr G has another take on mitochondria with an “energy complex” that includes the powerful antioxidants niacinamide, CoQ10 and superoxide dismutase. Vitamin C also plays a key role, while the amino acids arginine and carnitine form something called creatine, which in turn stimulates the skin to produce more collagen and elastin. This serum was launched this year and I have found it to be a very useful staple in my regimen for smoothing lines and firming.

  • E'shee Clinical Esthetic Elixir of Life KI Therapy Serum

E'shee Clinical Esthetic Elixir of Life KI Therapy Serum ($189 in the shop) I have a crease on my left cheek that left unabated will etch itself into my skin. Time and again in the past three years, I turn back to E’shee’s Kl and smooth it away. This serum has stood the test of time and remains a truly unique formula with growth factors (FGF 1 peptide) and Far Infrared Ceramic Powder (cFIR) to firm skin, increase volume, smooth texture, reduce redness caused by rosacea and repair broken capillaries.

  • AQ Skin Solutions Active Serum

AQ Skin Solutions Active Serum ($149 in the shop) Another serum to have stood the test of time is AQ’s (it was a Five Best back in 2011!) and it remains one of our community’s favorite buys. With a whopping 42% concentration of growth factors from human conditioned media, plus vitamins, lactic acid and glycerin. Growth factors signal to cells to do useful things such as repair wounds or wrinkles and AQ’s serum is a consistently reliable line smoother – even those deep ones.
