It has barely been six months since our first Five Best shampoos, but it is already woefully out of date. That's actually a good thing because it means that we've had lots of good finds. In fact, I was hard pushed to narrow it down to only five (we should be able to create future Five Bests on shampoo sub-categories such as shampoos that thicken hair). The new Five Best brings you Nutra-Lift ($22) and FNS ($24), Tropical RainMax Green Alchemy and Komenuka.

Highly commendeds that didn't quite make Five Best, were BeeceuticalsLatherNutra-Lift Goat Milk ($18), and Suki.

Jaysie, 3 of the 5 are in my shower now & I'd suggest Max Green. I'm totally with you on texture. Yes to Carrots makes my hair too soft. Max Green, both shampoo & conditioner is what I find (so far) to be most reliable/consistent no matter what kind of a hair day I'm having.

I used Komenuka about 10 years ago and it made my tinted blonde hair so soft I couldn't do a thing with it. I think *texture* (mine is fine) is the biggest factor in how hair products work. For example, I have yet to find a no-sulphate shampoo that doesn't make my hair frizzy and, as I age, things are getting worse! It's a good thing I have a neighbor with one daughter and two daughters-in-law because I'm able to recycle all my castoffs. Now I'm wondering which of the other 4 winners I should try. :)

I tried the FNS but it didn't do much for my hair. I do shampoo daily so maybe that's the problem. Definitely time to try the Tropical Rain. John Masters..Lindsay, what type of hair do you have and do you shampoo daily?

John Masters Zinc & Sage and Honey & Hibiscus shampoos are my all-time favorites. They makes my hair grow quicker (my once limp locks are noticeably fuller) and my highlights last forever since I started using his line.

Thanks Marta am always happy when you update any of the best five lists * How could anyone not love the purity, simplicity of the Tropical Rain ingredients? Sometimes I fall in love more with the ingredients than the product I think! You have to use the Nutra-Lift because you just know (from it's ingredients) that it's good for you (same rational for I take a multivitamin). Max Green...it's a wonderful shampoo!

    Aerwin,
The comments function has been fixed - and there was I wondering why there was so little interest in Infuse. Thanks so much!
