Five Best with Growth Factors 2018

April 18, 2018 Reviewed by Marta 0 Comments

Epidermal growth factors (EGF) and stem cells are one of the most exciting things in skincare. These protein molecules are numerous in kind, but they all send signals to cells, their roles differ. Mostly, these proteins are repairers and much of the research on them has been on wounds. Extracts of stem cells contain peptides, amino acids, and enzymes. Serums with EPGs and stem cells are very effective wrinkle repairers. This is my Five Best selection for 2018.

  • KERACELL Re-Cu-perate Recovery Serum

KERACELL Skin Solutions Eye Serum ($100 in the shop). KERACELL has a slightly different take on growth factors than other brands that use human stem cells typically from one source such as adipose fat or fibroblast. KERACELL blends growth factors from both adipose and fibroblast to create a balanced complex. Tiny nano-lipids (1000 times smaller than cells) called exosomes to help the delivery of the stem cells into the skin when applied topically. In Re-Cu-Perate, they have been boosted by copper peptides. Although Keracell positions this as a post-treatment serum, I use it off-label as a line erasor

  • AQ Skin Solutions Eye Serum

AQ Skin Solutions Eye Serum ($99 in the shop). AQ’s eye serum to this day remains an outstanding bestseller and I go back to it over and over. The growth factor is a sophisticated complex with TGF-Beta, GM-CSF and PDGF. These signal the cells to repair, stimulate collagen and produce glycosaminoglycans. They also inhibit matrix degradation. They also — at least in my case — make eyelashes grow. AQ has also ensured that this eye serum is a good all rounder with the collagen-boosting peptide complex Matrixyl 3000 and dipeptide 2, a depuffer that improves lymphatic drainage.

  • E'shee Clinical Esthetic Elixir of Life KI Therapy Serum

E'shee Clinical Esthetic Elixir of Life KI Therapy Serum ($189 in the shop). This is E’shee's most potent formula and combines growth factors (FGF 1) and Far Infrared Ceramic Powder (cFIR). E’shee says it “firm skin, increase volume, smooth texture, reduce redness caused by rosacea and repair broken capillaries” and it does all of that for me and I go back to it again and again. FGF’s are the building blocks of any fibrous tissue in the body and the far infrared boosts the fibroblasts that express transforming growth factor-(TGF-1). Yes, I know there are parabens and I wish there weren’t.

  • ReLuma Skin Illuminating Serum

ReLuma Skin Illuminating Serum ($145 in the shop). This is one of the first products I discovered for Truth In Aging and I am very happy to say it is enjoying a renaissance with the community. Reluma's serum boasts a blend of 387 human growth factors, along with matrix proteins. That's it. This is a stem serum that justifiably relies on the potentcy of its proprietary active.

  • ExPürtise Effective Anti-Aging Face Serum

ExPürtise Effective Anti-Aging Face Serum ($120 in the shop). Expurtise doesn’t mess around. The first 12 ingredients in this serum include Matrixyl 3000, hyaluronic acid, Matrixyl Synthe 6, vitamin A, vitamin E, vitamin C, apple stem cells and epidermal growth factor (EGF). This new brand launched in 2015 with a mission to combine natural ingredients with proven heavy hitters, no fillers or nasties. With great results reported by testers in the Truth In Aging community, ExPürtise is a very welcome addition to this year’s Five Best.
