It's always a thrill when we find products that are really good, but can't help to always hunt for something better. And then of course, there's our search for the holy grail of skincare. Upgrade your regimen with our first ever "Good, Better, Best" list.
Good: Hyalogic Episilk Instant Facelift Serum ($39.95 in the shop) moisturizes and tightens skin while smoothing fine lines and wrinkles. Not unlike what its name claims, Miree said she saw instant results using this serum.
Better: Astara Age Defying Complex ($85) restructures skin's elasticity with niacin, ginkgo biloba and royal jelly. Gunilla said it is one of the best serums she's ever tried.
Best: Ultra Renew Plus ($159 in the shop) delivers the best anti-aging treatment for firming the skin. JMS said she had a noticeable increased toning, firming and glow to her skin. "What a superb, very reasonably priced at-home device!"
Fine Lines & Wrinkles
Good: Osmois Corect Skin Serum ($56 in the shop):is an effective product at a great price with proven anti-agers, including trans-retinal, a form of retin A that is relatively stronger as well as being gentler. Summer loves the she is seeing with her fine lines and skin tone. "Drinks right in without any stickiness or residue."
Better: BRAD Biophotonic Essential Elixir Multi-Peptide ($95 in the shop) is rich in amino acids to help nourish skin and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. "I use BRAD Essential Elixir Multi-Peptide at night after cleansing. In the morning my skin is fresh and awake, soft and smooth," said Lynn.
Best: Michael Todd Knu Anti Aging Face Lift ($150 in the shop) gently firms, lifts and tightens facial sag, while reducing wrinkles and loss of elasticity over time. Within a month, Tina's skin felt and looked firmer, was silky smooth, and all lines and imperfections were diminished.
Good: M.A.D Spot On ($42) is a skin brightening serum to minimize dark spots and uneven skin tone. Jennifer said that after a week and a half of using the product, she no longer has to wear concealer.
Better: Michelle sings La Vie Celeste Éclairage Restorative Serum's ($98.50 in the shop) praises. It "has definitively lightened the melisma, shrunk the pores and miraculously re-smoothed my crow's feet."
Best: E'shee Serum Intensive Brightening ($119 in the shop) treats hyperpigmentation and dark spots Sheena said she was very impressed with product, which helped improve her skin.
Redness & Rosacea
Good:The deceptively simple formula in Sevani Advanced Complexion Corrector ($39 in the shop) is dominated by soothing aloe juice and willow bark. "It does exactly what promises - after a month of daily usage my skin is visibly calmer and it's tone is more even," Dasha said.
Better: Medik8 Red Alert ($60 in the shop) solution isn't your mother's anti-redness, broken vein treatment. This extremely targeted formula has just one active ingredient, teprenone, which is cutting edge and remains quite rare.
Best: I am a big believer in LED light therapy as an anti-aging treatment. Ultra Renew Plus ($149 in the shop) has definitely kept my face looking firm and plump.
Good: Josh Rosebrook Moisturizing Cleanser ($27) is rich in antioxidants and botanical ingredients. Aimee said she loved this cleanser from the first time she tried it, as it contains absolutely no nasties.
Better: Snowberry Gentle Remineralising Toner ($53) is a gentle foaming cleanser and toner in one. "I feel it cleans the skin and removes makeup effectively while leaving my skin feeling soft and moisturized. I never feel tight or dry afterwards---just perfectly balanced," said Summer.
Best: Ultra Clear System ($86) is extremely effective while being kind to sensitive skin. "I never knew I would benefit from using a facial brush until I received the Ultra Clear System by Truth in Aging, and now since I have used it, I feel like my face wouldn't be completely clean without it!" Pam said.
Crow's Feet & Wrinkles
Good: Tilth Beauty Eye Wondrous Serum ($62) is enriched with peptides and retinol. Dawn loved the good ingredients, good results and the good amount of product for the price.
Better: AQ Eye Serum ($99 in the shop) effectively diminishes crow's feet wrinkles and fine lines. GG said this was the best serum she's ever tried - and she's tried many.
Best: The PaloVia Skin Renewing Laser ($499) is an at-home device that uses fractional laser resurfacing technology. Dennis said his eyes were lifted, plumped, and look refreshed after using the device.
Good: Arcona Desert Mist ($35 ) is a lightweight, hydrating moisturizer in a light, gel form. Sheree said she loves the fresh glow it gave her skin.
Better: Episilk Pure Hyaluronic Serum ($59.95 in the shop) hydrates and balances the skin. Imelda noticed the benefits of this product in just two weeks.
Best: Skin Nutrition Cell CPR ($170) is a lightweight, hydrating serum packed with anti-aging ingredients including growth factors and copper peptide. Nisha said she uses this product every day and loves it.
Good: Arcona AM Blemish Lotion ($38) is a lightweight lotion designed to help treat problem skin, while also unclogging and refining pores. Arcona does recommend it for adolescent and adult acne sufferers, promising that it clears lesions and reduces inflammation.
Better: Astara Blue Flame Purification Mask ($42) provides powerful purification of skin's pores and surface with tea tree oil and bioactive components to prevent and treat excessive oiliness and blemishes. If you have oily skin, enlarged pores or problem areas, Flame Purification Mask is for you. You can also dab it onto a zit and leave it overnight.
Best: Baby Blue Quasar ($349) helps fight acne due to blue light wavelengths that produce singlet oxygen, which can destroy acne-causing bacteria.
