Despite the name, there isn't just one (genuine) superfruit in Grassroots Research Pomegranate Super Antioxidant Cream, but two. I can't quite believe that this scrapes in at just under $29.50 for 50ml. This potion was launched last month and puts many of the pricier botanical creams to shame.

There is blueberry, the original superfruit antioxidant, which has recently been put in the shade by pomegranate and goji. There aren't too many creams around with goji berry (there is the new range from upmarket spa, Canyon Ranch, but Grassroots delivers much better value for money). The ORAC test, which was adopted by the Department of Agriculture to measure antioxidant levels, gives goji berries an ORAC rating of 25,300. Pomegranate scores 3,307 and blueberries come in at 2,400. Grassroots has all three.

It also has antioxidant grape and yeast extracts. Then there are a couple of interesting botanicals: gentian root is anti-inflammatory and possibly anti-bacterial; scutellaria baicalensis (commony known as skullcap) is rich in flavenoids; and rice bran is a natural sunscreen.

Sure, there are a few emollients and the usual suspects in the preservative department. But so are there in creams that cost eight times as much as Grassroots. If you are looking for a decent inflation-beater, you could do a lot worse than check this out.

I work at the register at Kohls so when I expressed my worry to my coworker in the beauty department about how my skin was aging faster than the rest of me(I just had a birthday) she recommend this. Well actually I bought the Pomegranate Overnight Recovery Serum plus the Cream in a two pack set they had on sale on black Friday for $34.99. I've been using it for two weeks now and have noticed results already. Fine lines around my eyes are so much finer I have to use my magnifying mirror even to see them now. The few aging spots on my nose and upper cheeks, which I used pretend were freckles, are faded and some completely gone. I also had a few rough red patches on my cheekbones that have completely cleared up! I know this may sound like I'm biased, being an employee of the place that sells the stuff, but I think the Pomegranate Super Antioxidant Cream is just marvelous. I'd definitely would recommend it!
